You may notice that no matter what image you are coloring, the background is icy blue, and there is cubic snow falling down the screen!

This is our Christmas Seasonal Effect! During the whole month of December, to get us all in the Christmas spirit, we play this effect! Not a fan of the snowy backdrop? No worries! Toggle 'Seasonal Effects' in the settings menu to customise your experience.

The Christmas Seasonal Effect isn't just for Christmas! With Seasonal Effects turned on, the Advent book will have the event playing all year round when you play these seasonal images, so don't worry about missing out!

As it is officially December, we can start opening our Advent Calendars!

You can play the Advent World this month as an Advent Calendar, which means you get to open up and play one image per day to count down the days until Christmas!

• Added the Advent World - This special seasonal DLC contains 24 levels, starting from the 1st of December; a new level will unlock each day!

• Added Frostfall Festival Seasonal Effects! - Active throughout 1st December to the 31st December each year. Enjoy some chilly snow effects and festive decorations! If you don't like the changes (humbug to you), then you can always disable them in the settings.

• Added the functionality to feature DLC at specific times of the year. For example, Advent will be featured throughout all of December, and Halloween will be featured in October.

• The Seasonal Effects can now be tied to worlds, allowing them to ignore the current date and persist at all times. This means you can play Halloween with the Haunted Harvest effects out of season, and if you wanted to play Advent in June (for some odd reason), then it will snow.

• Added a lot of functionality to the Advent world to support the high number of levels and to lock off levels until the correct date has arrived.

• The headings in the world select that were added in the last update now turn white with dark mode enabled for better readability.

• The headings in the world select that were added in the last update now localise correctly.

• Fixed an issue where completing an entire world for the first time wouldn't update the layout of the world select accordingly.

• Fixed a visibility issue where some transparent voxels wouldn't render the faces between them while colouring. This effect was noticeable in some lanterns in the Halloween world and the Jelly City level in the Community world.

• Added Mars Colony World

• Added a new "Setting Saved" UI indicator to inform you when a change in the settings is saved.

• Refreshed the world selection in the main menu to dynamically organise the worlds in a logical manor. The game will now show featured worlds at the top, followed by worlds you have available to you, DLC you don't own, then finally worlds that you have completed. Featured worlds will include either new DLC or DLC that is related to the current time of year such as Halloween being featured in October. This should be very familiar to those of you who play Coloring Pixels but if you don't like the change, then we have also added a "Legacy World Select" setting (default off) that will let you revert to the previous chronological order we launched with.

• Fixed a bug where the Halloween world wouldn't have the correct main menu lighting and colour settings.

• The Halloween world now uses the Haunted Harvest seasonal effects all year around.

• Added a lot of foundation work for the upcoming Frostfall Festival in game event.

• Fixed a bug where on some wide-screen resolutions, the logo would poke through the back of the main menu UI.

This Mars Colony-themed world might start out small with a few survival essentials, but it will quickly grow into a bustling metropolis. Eventually, you can even terraform Mars in this packed 16-level world!

We have added the most highly requested feature, Dark Mode! Change the background, text, and UI with a single button press to reduce the overall screen brightness, allowing for better play in dark conditions without straining your eyes. The new setting is set to "Off" by default, so be sure to visit the settings page to try it out.

• New Fee Community Book! - Congratulations once again to the 16 amazing winners of this year's voxel art competition. Now available to everyone to enjoy! We have ensured that we utilise the "Hide Non-Essential" setting for this world. If you have it enabled, then the floor for the world will be removed, allowing you to experience the individual pieces of art in isolation.

• New Dark Mode Setting (Default Off) - This highly requested feature is here! When you enable it, the game swaps to a much darker colour palette using blacks as a background with white text.

• Fixed a bug where selecting a colour by entering numbers on the keyboard wouldn't cause the palette to scroll to the button.

• Scrolling up and down the world list in the main menu will no longer cause the camera to move up and down at the same time.

• Updated the Patreons list in the Credits page. Another new handsome member. 💖

• Level completion percentage now always rounds down, so you can't get into a situation where you are at 100% complete but with a few voxels left to complete.

• Fixed one of the lamp posts in the Halloween world as it was using the wrong glass material.

• New Game Plus now resets the timer as intended. This means that personal best times should also now also track properly.

• Fixed a display issue where sometimes internal voxels that are surrounded by translucent voxels wouldn't appear in the main menu. This fix addresses the portal in the Underwater world and the lights in the streetlights in the Halloween world, for example.

A big congratulations to all the winners! As you can see, Jack has created a floor setting for each level to snap together on the main menu, making your levels a part of a grand exhibition! If all goes to plan, this floor will be tied to the "Hide unused voxels" Setting, so you can choose to play the winners with or without the added floor.

We will also be adding textures and particle effects as requested, such as making any glass transparent and making that jelly wobble! If you are one of the winners and have any bespoke particle effect or material requests, please let us know!

This community-made world will be coming soon to all players as a free update for you all to play! Thank you to everyone who submitted. The results are amazing. Make sure you express your interest about future community worlds if you want the chance to get your own art into Coloring Voxels and we'll be able to plan future, annual competitions!
