I assume spoilers are fine for a thread like this, considering discussing changes implies we know the story to change.

I'd like my girl Mikan to survive of course, but at the very least 3-2 needs some major changes. If they're gonna keep Despair Disease, at get rid of the "remembering disease". Absolutely awful motive, can make literally any of them a murderer through sheer chance and takes away their agency, which is supposed to be part of the point of these killing games.

I would personally spoiler tag these just in case but also I feel like in SDR2 Monokuma is just more aggressive than in the first game, which I guess makes sense because of the grand plan of everything but let's not forget Case 4 basically goes "either you kill someone or everyone dies" which would go against the concept of the game as well.

Let's be real, if no one killed anyone, was Monokuma really going to let them starve to death? I highly doubt it, there's a difference between creating a high stress situation and bluffing and outright rewriting a character into a killer.

I love Mikan so much but I was almost put off by her just for all of the pantie shots, I don't think I need much explanation for why seeing a minors upskirt shots is uncomfortable, even if she's 'technically' an adult her avatar is a teen.

I did not like Chiakis characterization within her free time events.
It feels awkward and stilted in some ways, not to mention if Chiaki is meant to be a AI formed from the memories of the entire class + Hajime then she should know where milk comes from and not be so... like, inept in human interactions? Unless that means that an entire high school girl was that ill informed in how the world works?? Like, seriously, she shouldn't be weirdly uninformed and unaware of the world around her to the point Hajime has to explain that milk comes from cows and what Girls Day is.
So I'd love some justice for Chiaki in her characterization in the revamp!

Monokuma needed some of them alive for their plan to work, so I doubt they would have let them all die, but either way you can't deny monokuma was a lot more bloodthirsty with the "motivations" behind the killings in 2 compared to 1

The new route is apparently completely different, and the new route was the focus and reason behind the remake, so its a bit different from P3R which just remade the story of P3.

I do wonder why they chose to do the new route in general, instead of a fourth game, but my guess is that the setting and characters of 2 just make it prime for an alternative take compared to retconning 3 or making another universe entirely like V3

As for V3 being in another universe, the Danganronpa 3 anime is the canonical end for Hopes Peak's series, and there was a famitsu article years ago where they explicitly state V3 was it's own thing, which is also why it's called New Danganronpa V3. The New was to signify it being a new thing disconnected from the previous entries.
