Add quest support already
I own a pro 2 not a quest, but quest is bigger than pc.. the game really needs quest support so it can grow especially as loads people use virtual desktop

This

Honestly, atleast this filters out most of the 10 year olds on quest.

I honestly wouldn't mind if they don't add quest standalone support, and keep it PCVR... Filters out a LOT of the kiddies. Yes that really sucks for late teens/adults that only have a quest and no PC to link it to, but you can't please everyone all the time.

the game has probably been dead for along time due to vrchat dominating the market

Agreed. If it's a big deal, get a link cable or keep using VD.

I mean, that kinda started to shift due to their decisions. Like, a lot

They've already stated they are making it for Quest 2, they're just improving stability first.

facebooks increasing the price to 500, so most parents are gonna think twice about dropping half a grand for xmas, or even letting children hang onto such an expensive and fragile investment anyways. i cracked my window open for a second the other day and my headset got two sunspots from sun damage in the right lens just by touching a ray of light, and ive only had it for gonig on two months. not only that, but facebook is also soon updating all quests with parental controls, and it also has some sort of verifying to make sure you're of age, so it wont be long before vrchat dies, since i've been guessing for awhile now, they used two xmas's of kids joining to bolster their numbers in the past 2 yrs, since vr was still trying to take off, and most people weren't jumping at the bit to play vrc.

They're currently working on updating the game to unity 2021. Which will come with better portability to quest as well. So they'll probably start working on quest compatibility after what they're currently doing.

to those complaining about vrc being ruined by kids, thats cos there is no age gating in vrc. they stuff us all in one place with no gatekeeping whatsoever.

chillout vr actually HAS age gating... so that, right there, solves a majority issue.
Some kids will sadly get past the age gating, but frankly, at that point ill just pull up my pants, not be lazy, and report the kids so they get banned, and keep the more mature instances squealer-free. id much rather report a squealer and have a dozen more adult friends because of it, than have a dozen less friends, because people are being elitist towards platforms and eliminating hundreds if not thousands of other adults from joining, just cos they don't have an almighty pc.
There's ways to do things right, and there's ways to do things wrong. it ain't black and white.

a game like this needs more people to join it, from quest and pc alike. and since it isn't vrchatINC devs making the quest version, I have atleast some faith that these devs will do it right, increasing audience reach while limiting squeakers.

me for one, ill keep playing it on pcvr.

I have never seen a quest and have no idea what it even is, but from my experience in the other game, it seems to be seriously underpowered. Its the kind of thing that is so old, that if you invest in supporting it, by the time you finish it will be long gone replaced with something more capable so it would be a complete waste of time and money. My 12 year old PC is running this perfectly, most people just need some body tracking and perhaps helmet screen and controls at most. You know its bad when they have to label assets "quest compatible"...

Actually, the Quest is far from been old. It's a stand-alone Vr Headset (mean you don't need a PC) but it is indeed less strong than a PC. It basically have the power of a smartphone so it have some restrictions like the kind of shader it can use, the amount of polygons, etc. The reason why we seem to see so many kids with it is because it's cheaper than having a PC and a bunch of parents end up buying a Quest for their kids like they would buy a console for them.

Chillout does have a separate DLC specifically for mature content. Any parent who does the bare minimum of checking libraries would instantly know their kid should not have a mature content DLC on a social game, unlike VRC where the parent just thinks “Oh yeah other kids play VRC it must be fine.”
