While I typically prefer fast paced games, I surprisingly enjoyed the slow methodical and at times agonizing trek through the cities, making all the detours to get through the city. The graphics and art style of the game are beautiful, and I don't believe I've seen a game that has more realistic blood splatters than in this game. The guns in general are pretty enjoyable, the AR that you get near the end of the game I found to be a pretty subpar representation as far as how it handles, shoots, etc, but that's also compared to the high bar that the game has set for itself. All in all it's a beautiful game with a fantastic story.

First and foremost, this game's launch was amazing. Compared to so many games that were pressured to launch early and received awful reviews at first as a result, this was a very fresh and welcome change. It released as a pretty polished game without any issues that really stop you from playing. I mean comparing to cyberpunk, I had about 10 hours into the story mode before I encountered a bug that physically wouldn't let me continue. Don't get me wrong, the game has a few bugs and glitches, but it usually starts and ends with not being able to go up stairs without jumping past a specific point, or some floating bottle of ink in a tower and in an area where you typically don't ever go. It's an immensely polished game that frankly, is the best comparison to RDR2 that has really existed. And the game isn't developed or published by the behemoth developer that rockstar is. It has done an amazing job sticking to historical accuracy as far as armor and the such, and has a pretty refined combat system. This game is in no way perfect, and in ways a comparison to RDR2 is unfair, but it's meant as an honor more than an invitation to compare in depth. The game immerses you, and does a great job of being (relatively) welcome to people of all ages, something most rockstar games aren't. The comedic breaks are welcome, and as you get more into the game, you usually become more attuned to the comedic breaks that you wouldn't otherwise expect. Some many criticize these humorous parts, but I personally think it's quite fitting to the style of the game. Truly an amazing and addicting game.

It frankly baffles me how this game took anything longer than a year to make, much less five. Is it pretty? Sure, in a good few ways. Is it stunning? Meh. I mean it's nice, 4K HDR at 240 but it's nowhere near as enchanting as literally watching a 15 year old movie.

Not only is this another unsurprisingly awful Ubisoft development, nor would I play it for free, but I'd be hard pressed to accept a 6 figure job where I simply played this game.

Characters: Awful, horrible customization, horrible animation, horrible facial expressions
Gameplay: I feel like a five year old with a parentally locked tablet. While I'm all for a family friendly game, I think an infant would find this disgusting

Flight: Pretty cool, until it's not?
Fighting: Awful

Another foot deeper into the hole Ubisoft goes.

Ive seen a few relatively negative updates about this game, and to be honest I do understand them. The game doesn't have a 'purpose' in the same way many others do, but its still quite an early version of the game, and its done by a singular person. I will say, however, that most of the people have gripes about such silly things. "Rahhhh I can't build a harbor" is pretty trivial, no idea what he's talking about.

The big thing to realize is that this obviously isn't like many other games, but not in the ways you think. Tomas, the dev, isn't some far disconnected person. He owns the server, and he responds to literally EVERYTHING. You can go on there and just dm him and be like 'yo whats up tomas' and hes gonna respond with like 'nothing much just working on this dope game lol'. He's a super cool dude, and whatever issues you have with the game he fixes. Your game save doesn't work? Send it to him, he will help you out. You don't like how the game plays? Tell him and he's going to consider it and work on it. He's an amazing dude, and he listens to everyone. It honestly blows my mind how this man has the time of day to develop a game by himself and on top of that manage and be immensely active in a discord server like that. And for that interaction and community alone, it's quite worth it. Be a part of something great, and get Bulwark.

PS: while the game doesn't have much a purpose if youre anything like me you know you suck at city builders. this game FLATTERS you. you don't even really need to try to make a city look cool, and you get to sit back and be like 'when did i build this...?'. as you get to understand the game more you'll certainly play it through many times to be able to make the things you want to, and in the meantime interact with the community, and work alongside Tomas to make the game great.

if you ignore the fact that you cant get to space or use any of the vehicles you once had the ability to use, it's a pretty cool DLC. it adds a whole new level of challenge to the game tbh: make something that actually works.

This is one of the only games that will make you want to shove a cactus up your ass and at the same time you keep playing it. Admittedly it's very addictive, and very grindy, but it's fun, and as a child growing up with it, it got me into airplanes a lot, and a lot I know about vehicles comes from the game.
