This game has a classic JRPG feel to it. I am so far finding myself invested in the story line and what happens to *most* of the main characters. The music seems home grown but that just adds to the positive indie feel of the game.

The combat system doesn't have a wait system which at first was a bit of a shock but the game seems to be balanced around it and did fine easing me into it by the time things started getting difficult and I had to use more than simple attacks to succeed. By then I had rearranged my spells enough to know exactly where to go without having to think about it.

Definitely has a small studio feel to it but honestly that is what gamers need right now instead of the AAA studio garbage that has been pumped out lately.

Overall an appropriately priced and enjoyable little JRPG.

Definitely not without flaw, but still a very fun game to play with friends and teammates.

The community overall is one of the best I have ever experienced from any prior game. Much more mature players than an average shooter. There are the occasional bad eggs, but for the most part those people are not embraced by the community as a whole.

Lots of units to choose from with varying skill levels or focuses. There are various recruitment threads on www.reddit.com/r/OutreachHPG as well as the hiring hall and recruitment forums on mwomercs.com

PGI has been doing a lot better lately making positive changes and working with the community to make the game better. It is difficult the please everybody and they have made quite a few bad balancing decisions in the past, but it seems like they are starting to get more in line with what needs to be done.

Some of the new maps have been focusing more on being pretty and large instead of functional and balanced. The fact that they redid the maps in the first place was a step in the right direction, but I feel like at the time they could have gathered more info from the community as to what needed to be done to make the maps better. They listened to the part where people wanted destructable trees and stuff, but then took it a step further and put so much of it in that it obscures vision. Also the fog needs to GO. Poor visibility does not make things enjoyable. We'll see if the next map the do fixes some of those issues.

The 3rd party competitive scene is solid, and is only getting better as the community grows. PGI has been paying attention to 3rd party leagues and have been supporting them with prizes and coverage. They even had a team made up of their developers in the most recent season of MRBC!
