I don't think I've ever seen a game with so many DLCs and expansions with so little content. So much of the singleplayer content gets removed later on, and most of the story content in the new campaigns is laughabky boring, and after coming back every few years it is incredible that I can end up matchmaking for the same strikes I was doing 5 years ago (I know, ♥♥♥♥ me for wanting some short challenge missions to enjoy from time to time). The strikes that are there are also quiet boring, and many of them are part of larger expansion stories, rather than standalone experiences, so they are filled with the god awful dialogue that each campaign has been cursed with. I guess raids and dungeons are fun, the first few times, but you get to pay extra for some of the dungeons because apparently bungie doesn't make enough money on expansions and cosmetics. These dungeons and raids also appear to be the only real way to get new unique gear. For returning players, do note that when playing through all of the campaigns (of which only the witch queen and maybe the final shape will be enjoyable) you will be getting the same armor drops that have been here for years, with generic "new" weapons that only exist to be infusion materials and will fill your entire inventory in minutes. The monetization has gone insane, with crazy prices both for bare-bones expansions and for in game currency, and the grind is just unreal for how little you get in return. Much of the armor in the campaigns ends up looking ugly as all hell, but don't worry, bungie has poured all their real effort into designing premium skins for your armor for just $20 each. I would love nothing more than to come back to this game and have a blast; I loved destiny on the xbox 360, but this is just sad to experience. If these devs were actually willing to pull a final fantasy 14 and add all of the content that has been removed, regardless of the game's install size, I feel the experience would immediately be far better, but again, nothing is going to change the monetization and the horrible writing of the few morons left at bungie.

Overall, the gameplay feels great. I wouldn't say it's a step up from 2016 as it has a very different feel to it, but this game works great with the gameplay style that it encourages. I greatly dislike the change in visuals from doom 2016, feels kinda goofy to me and takes me out of the experience, but that's just me. My biggest issue though is the sound design. Weapons are all bass, with no actual substance. They feel like they are very boomy, but you miss out on the audible details of the game's combat , and it just adds to the terribly muddled mix that is this game's audio balance. Music is muffled/quiet, less metallic and impactful than in 2016. After getting a mod to replace weapon sounds/music, the game becomes a lot more enjoyable to me as my ears aren't being constantly assaulted by 1000 different sounds that even on their own are hard to make out. I really do enjoy the gameplay, but whoever was in charge of audio mixing/sound design needs to lose their job for this mess.

Never before have I seen a competitive shooter where the competitive gamemode is somehow more fun than casual. The matchmaking in this game has to be one of the worst things I've seen in any game. Also, ♥♥♥♥ these devs kneeling before their chinese overlords with some of the most braindead chat censorship in history.

When people mention toxic communities, this is the game that comes to mind

One of the worst stories I've ever experienced with some of the worst dialogue ever witnessed by mankind. Borderlands 2 is the ONLY good borderlands game

Mostly fun dlc, great bosses, great exploration and open world. However, this is the first fromsoft game since bloodborne where it has been entirely evident that these games need a new engine DESPERATELY. I should not get 13 frames per second on the final, most difficult boss of the dlc with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rtx 3080. How do you fight a boss when your framerate is an extra enemy that you can't kill?

Imagine looking at league of legends and thinking "I think this really needs a sequel". ♥♥♥♥ this game and ♥♥♥♥ smite 2

Can't spawn on the front line because squad leaders never place rally points. Can't get to the fight on half the maps because sixty players will have their snipers out for the entire game. Incredibly frustrating on half of all the maps in the game.
however, progression has been greatly improved so the game no longer feels like a complete slog. pretty fun for the mostpart

alright game, but 99% of the players are little children who think they're detectives. you better not make a mistake or 7 people are gonna report you for throwing. grow up people, get a job, and maybe a life while you're at it
