A big improvement from the beta I played earlier this year.
Still not quite ready, yet. But it IS improving.

If you enjoyed doing dungeons/raids in WoW (or any other similar MMO) and crave that gameplay loop, this is the game for you. There's no BS. No leveling, no farming materials, just a game to play. You can play for an hour or two and actually make progress. The dungeons aren't THAT well designed, but they're still engaging and unique enough that I enjoy them. I hope there are far more dungeons in the future, maybe even larger raids with more than 4 players!

I mean I guess it's not bad, but it doesn't hold my attention like previous Doom titles, so for that I'd not recommend it.

The game features a physically attractive female protagonist, along with a cast of other equally attractive side characters.
The worlds are gorgeous, highly detailed, and there's a TON of content to play through (I didn't even do everything and my first playthrough still took 35 hours. You aren't completely done until NG++ though!).
The combat system is where the game really shines. The combos, parrying, dodging, abilities, it all comes together. Combat like a mix of Dark Souls and Bayonetta, with TONS of customization options.
For the best experience, play it with a PS5 controller with Steam Input disabled. The game runs amazingly, my framerate only dipped noticeably during ONE end-game fight (possibly a bug). It also runs great on the Steam Deck (45-60 FPS, totally playable).
The only complaints I have are that the swimming controls are ATROCIOUS, but thankfully there's no underwater combat and swimming rare.
The sound design is phenomenal, the music is good (though can get repetitive). Boss music is where it shines, so if you mute overworld music at least turn up the boss music. There are a few "horror-lite" sections that I think work better with no music, though.
Definitely my GOTY for 2025.

Unironically better than Serious Sam 4. If you though SS4 was okay, give this a shot. Encounters feel way more interesting and engaging, there's no "you lost all your weapons oopsie haha" moments, and the cheese factor never gets too high.
Honestly, if it's on sale, buy it.

A fun game. Not a whole lot to it: go from floor to floor killing people so you can kill your nemesis. There's ENOUGH enemy variety and 3 different game modes to keep you going. For $10 I'd say it's worth it.

Hidden gem, a roguelite Star Fox. Needs a bit more level and enemy variation but otherwise it's great!

The VR version is the definitive way to play. If you have VR, play it that way instead.

SIGNIFICANTLY better than the base version. They not only made the VR version fully functional, they actually incorporated it into the story. Play this version if it's an option.
