Sadly still feels unfinished and unpolished after releasing from early access, despite having tons of potential. Unless there's plans for some big changes post-release I can't really recommend it.

Most negative reviews are just people expecting the game to be free because it's listed as free to play when in reality it's more of a free trial and devs are requesting a $30 purchase to unlock all features. But guess what? The game was always supposed to cost money to play. Only due to Ironmace not wanting to screw over their existing playerbase from their own platform they decided to make the initial game free to download through Steam as a compromise, which also lets new players get a good feel for the game without committing to a purchase. Yet somehow people find a way to see this as a negative and expect more access to the game without the need to pay. I guess devs should expect better than to demand payment for their work...

All that being said, the game is fun especially with friends, and the devs are actively working on addressing the "F2P" issues that people are bringing up so maybe everyone will be happy by the end of this.

This game changed my life

VRChat showed time and time again that they don't care about their userbase and that the devs are incapable of adding features the game needs in time, so players have to rely on modders to implement basic improvements to the game that the devs don't add themselves. With the latest example being the recent update, VRChat now runs Easy Anti Cheat, despite massive requests from their users not to implement it. EAC completely bans the use of any mods and further hinders the game in terms of performance and accessibility while the VRChat team is in no way making an effort to make up for lost features by updating their game. All this to stop a very small portion of griefers influencing other people's experience while most of the other game breaking exploits remain unfixed and with every regular user caught in the crossfire.

Cancel your VRC+ subscription and try out NeosVR or ChilloutVR, just don't support devs that don't respect their own playerbase.

Gearbox purchases the IP of a popular game off the original developers and then proceeds to ruin said game with an update as soon as the original developers are no longer involved? Oh no! Who could've seen that coming?

If you buy this game for online then prepare to get banned for no reason.
