absolutely, hands down, the greatest soulslike I've ever played. innovative combat and finally a game that presents a real challenge

not as good as dark souls, but still fun

absolute banger. imagine that attack on dragon keep bl2 dlc turned into an entire dnd-campaign based world. its a 10/10 from me boys

So its a great game. the music, the graphics, the tempo: almost everything. BUT. After you beat the game and proceed to hardcore mode, all the enemies that normally show up later in the game are everywhere. Which at first i loved because it made the whole game hard instead of just the last bit. the problem with it is though, things get really glitchy and half the enemies are suddenly able to shoot through wall hitboxes, stairs, etc. and kill you when they REALLY shouldnt be able to. this mostly applies to brawlers (literally flew through a few walls and hit me) and to the lil robo bois who shoot walls of death at you (that can just clip through many different walls). so yeah the game is great, brutal, and badass as F#CK, but there is still a large bit of room for improvement. -that being said, its def worth a play.

WOW. where to start with this game. First of all, for 8 people making it and it being in early access after just 4 years, this game is in absolutely amazing shape. It is exactly what it claims to be: a hard, puzzle-fps-stealth game that is insane amounts of fun. If you like games where you have to prepare defenses, think tactically, and make quick precise decisions, then this is the game for you.
The "Rundown" is the area you are diving into with a few different maps that change every now and then, with most of them being different difficulties. As an example, the current rundown (005) has A1-2, B1-3, C1-2, and D-1 (i think). Each letter being a different floor and each number being a different area of that floor, in increasing difficulty order. As with most games, they do a great job of introducing the much more basic enemies first. As not to totally spoil the experience, I won't list them, but he first enemies you encounter are called sleepers. To navigate around and kill the Sleepers, you must pay attention the the level's transmission log that you see before selecting it, this will help you will the further challenges to come as well.

The weapons, unlike most games like this, dont actually do a boatload of damage as you see in most of these games. Ammo runs low real quick, so staying stealthy and using your melee (which all do the same damage, but can be buffed through charging your attacks) is a pretty damn good idea. Going loud means the chance of survival is drastically lowered, and often times, it'll be an accident when you actually do.
That being said, for the guns- I'm kind of torn. Some of them are pretty good, some of them are meh. Most of the ones labeled as [rundown specific] tend to be on the better side. But your pistols are great for headshots, shotguns and sometimes smgs are good for crowd control, but the AR's are mediocre at best. You want to not the ranges of the weapons, as well as their fire modes. Other than that, for the most part you kind of just have to get a feel for each one and use what youre best with, which i love because of an perhaps odd reason: there's no clear meta. Personally at least, I hate games with metas where one thing is just super OP and decimates everything- even if it means i win, which makes this game great.

- It is incredibly difficult. like if dark souls became an FPS-stealth-zombie-ish game
- You will die. You must persevere and try try try try try try try again and again and again. BUT YOU WILL GET IT.
- It is NOT an easy or casual game, it's players are aiming to WIN. These means HEAVY cooperation between you and your team. A mic is HIGHLY recommended.
- Your objective log will help you understand where you are going A LOT. Pay attention to it. (top left or open your map using tab and hit the "O" key.
- In the rundown, as long as the rundown doesnt change, each level (A1,A2,B1,B2,B3,ETC) will always be the same except for the spawns, but the shape will remain, use this to your advantage.
- Watch game clips on youtube or twitch or whatever platform you choose before purchasing, understand the game's mechanics at least a little before you buy.
- If you are interested and thinking about it, but are unsure if you want to get it now or later, remember that it will be a full $60 at release. But its -$25 off now, you can help with the development of the game, have a great time, and gitgud before this game blows up.
- Buying the game expecting to only play two hours and then requesting a refund is a terrible idea. This game is kind of like risk of rain 2 for those of you who play- it takes a long a$$ time, and you still might not finish the level. Each level I've completed has taken anywhere to 30 mins to over an hour. Make sure you have that kind of time.

Other than that, all that's left is for you to make your choice. It's a great game, but not for the faint of heart nor the dull in mind.

its almost like dark souls became a more toonish, still very difficult, rage inducing, but also fun dungeon game.

ran through the woods while being chased by hundreds of zeds, angry lumberjacks, and boxers with saws for hands. smacked a few in the face with a shovel while my buddy made them bleed. then we came home and played KF2. Pretty good.
