The whole game requires absolute perfection to get more than 2 stars. Maybe thats your cup of tea, maybe not. But some of the levels seem downright impossible to get 3 stars, especially since several of these levels have time-gated mechanics (like waiting for a platform to move).

Next the games mechanics feel inconsistent and clunky. (I use mouse and keyboard.) There are times where I cling to a wall and leave, and i go down without jumping, instead of the regular mechanic that jumps off the wall. On top of that, if you overlap the directional keys, you simply stop moving. The game has many points that requires you to alternate your direction very precisely, and even leaving your finger on the other direction button for .01 seconds too long on any one of the 30 rapidly alternating keypresses can cause you to die, and restart a level.

If you like banging your against a wall, (and getting arthritis) to achieve a near impossible level of perfection this games for you. Everyone else, (including the aforementioned head-bangers) go play super meat boy.

Very good game, worth the money. I previously played 911 operator and can say that this is an improvement on that game.

Time : Main campaign took about 10 hours. There is tons of replayability with the choice to play in areas that you know or anywhere in the world.

Things that have been improved since 911 operator include a larger play area, the ability to assign control groups to your units, the ability to select multiple units at once. The fire mechanic is different and can leave you wanting more fireman at times. The ability to have dispatchers under you handle territory is nice and really starts to help on the harder difficulty.

Cost : Worth it.

Play time : Can beat the game relatively quick if you just dive straight in and push through just the game missions required for completion. It took me probably 8-12 hours of game time to beat. However if you play the game the way its meant to be played it could probably stretch another 6-10 hours out of the main story campaign.

Replay : There are a bunch of options once you beat the game. You can choose different size of maps, increase the difficulty, change the goals that your aiming for. So it gives you the ability to really have a different game each time.

Would highly recommend the game to anyone in to empire building. Very enjoyable. Hope they come out with DLC and more achievements in the future.

Overall Rating: 7/10

+Gameplay (over the shoulder third person shooter, with GTA style)
+Storyline (immersive)
+Theme/Atmosphere (represents the time period well)
+Automobile upgrades

-Linear Story path (very little side missions, and very few options that impact the story)
-Driving mechanics are a little off, but playable

The game throws you in to the shoe of Vito Scaletta. You have to prove yourself as a mobster via storyline based missions. The era is between 1940 and 1950 and the city environment is based on NYC but given the name Empire bay. You get to use Tommy guns and other era based weapons to kill your enemies. The overall gameplay is fun, and entertaining. The storyline gameplay is fast and can be completed in a handful of hours if you just want the story. You can do some side missions but they dont really impact your gameplay. The real reason to get this game is the DLC, that is when the game becomes open world and you can do just about anything you want.

Early Access Review
Phenomenal game. Still in early Beta, but they are working on the bugs and fixing them fast. I have been playing a few days, made several bug reports, and they have fixed every bug so far.

The idea behind the game is a zombie survival game, but it doesnt stop there. They have multiple game modes functioning already (survival / sandbox / last stand), they have plans for more as they work out bugs and improve content. Eventually to include multiplayer / co-op, which is a huge plus for me.

Actual gameplay is great, theres cooking, crafting, killing. You can really build your character as you play through the game, via skill points, which are earned from experience from doing one of the aformentioned tasks.

Anything you can imagine in the zombie / horror genre is either in the game, or being implemented in the game.

Highly highly recommend to anyone.
