There is something deeply contradictory in human nature. It carries within itself the capacity to create beauty, art, science, affection, but chooses, with disturbing frequency, the path of destruction. It is as if consciousness itself, instead of setting us free, pushes us toward an abyss we dig with our own hands.

When man discovered he could dominate, he wanted to possess. Upon realizing he could accumulate, he forgot how to share. Greed did not emerge from nowhere. It was cultivated as a virtue. And so, everything came to have a price, even things that should never have a value: life, time, land, others.

Wars are merely the loudest expression of this insatiable hunger. They are not deviations. They are consequences. Rome, Troy, Vietnam, Ukraine, different names for the same tragedy, the desire for power outweighing dignity. They kill in the name of ideals, but behind it there is always a calculation, an ambition, a market.

Destruction is not an accident. It is a project. It is the logical outcome of a species that has learned to exploit everything around it without ever looking inward. That builds cities on ashes, empires on corpses, economies on misery.

In the end, it will not be nature, time or chance that will extinguish us. It will be the human being itself, consumed by what he thought he could control. Not out of ignorance, but by choice.

While humans divide themselves through ambition, other animals live in harmony with their groups. Wolves hunt together, ants build together, dolphins protect one another. They do not hoard, they do not betray, they do not wage war for power. They understand, without needing to say it, that strength lies in the collective, not in domination.
