I've played WiiWare games more polished than this piece of garbage.

The devs were too lazy to synchronize the clients, so now everyone has to start over from the beginning. So say goodbye to all of your progress. And that also means your username is taken by yourself, so the only way to get YOUR OWN USERNAME back for this client is by paying 2,500 coins.

How much is 2,500 coins? That's gonna cost you $12.63.

That's an instant no from me chief.

I've played this title for a year now, and it's brought me a lot of fun; I like the community it's introduced me to and the unique gameplay full of interesting characters and fun gameplay. I also want to express that this game has overall provided a more positive experience for me than a negative one. To properly express my full thoughts, I put them into bullet points:

PROS:
-Gameplay is fun at its core
-Addictive progression system that feels rewarding for your performance
-Graphical updates, consistent content updates and balance changes adds to the game
-Very fun with friends in customs and Survive With Friends
-Maps and characters have been going through necessary balance changes

CONS (starting with monetization, then gameplay):
*-The game's version of a Battle Pass (the Archives) is very, VERY grindy. Challenges, especially at higher tomes, only give a pittance of how many tiers you have to climb to reap all the rewards, not to mention perk and killer-exclusive challenges that reward DLC buyers.
*-DLC is complicated and expensive. Be prepared to shell out some cash if you want good perks as killer, unless you have the godlike patience to wait for the perk you want in the shrine.
-Your survivor experience is entirely dependent on whether the killer wants to play scummy or not. Any killer can choose to facecamp hooks and it ultimately benefits them, even if the killer loses points post-game.
-Killers have powerful clutch perks such as NOED that can guarantee situations where you otherwise could have survived
-A single survivor DC'ing, being face-camped or being tunneled out of the game creates practically unwinnable situations for survivors
-Survivors can snowball gen-rush situations if they have a good early game
-Many players quit Killer or don't play them at all due to survivors having tools that allow them to take advantage of new killers or can be seen as toxic behavior such as head on stunning, running OoO, sandbagging hooks, teabagging, and so on
-Killers such as Freddy and Spirit can too easily win games, especially Freddy
-Bugs, bugs everywhere. Uncleansable HEX totems, giant rocks you can walk on, visual bugs, entire perks and characters not working correctly, collision bugs, so on.
-Often disconjointed or confusing hitboxes on killers which leads to hits that often don't seem to make sense (this may be fixed with the newly added hit validation)
-There are so many factors outside of the player's control that change the outcome of the game, such as tile/pallet spawns, totem spawns, killer addons, that the game having a ranked matchmaking system often doesn't make sense

Overall, I love this game and the fun it's brought for me, but you have to jump through a lot of unecessary hurdles to enjoy it and learn every facet of the game. It's only for those with the faint of heart who are willing to deal with the occasional stabbing in the back you get from playing the game.

The devs seem to listen to *some* feedback, even if glaring issues have been in the game for long periods of time. Buy the game for cheap to try it, cause you can easily get base DBD for under $10, but be aware of what you're getting into.

EDIT: added a few to each list that I forgot (edited pros and cons will be followed by an asterisk *).

A very fun and comical experience that wraps perfectly together into a short-&-sweet, memorable package. Plenty of secrets and achievements to earn as well.I haven't played the Co-Op mode but I feel that the single player experience alone is worth giving this wonderful game a thumbs up.

This game is so shottily made that I can't even click "settings" on the title screen or PRESS ESCAPE TO PAUSE THE GAME without it crashing. Not that I had intentions of playing it anyway. And no, it's not a hardware issue; I've run PLENTY of games of all sizes and I've never seen this sort of thing happen. Also, files validated and everything.

Unfortunately I'm not willing to play this game enough and I can't refund it because I got it through Humble Bundle (where it deservably belongs). In the mean time, I'll be playing an actual Saints Row title. Comments are open if this is a common issue and there's a solution.

A very fun and addicting game that offers a simple concept yet stays challenging and intricitely fun. Great game for killing boredom or even letting out anger, I recommend this titular game to everyone.
