I realized I never wrote a review for this game

Fun as a lore piece to the entire TES universe and building for meta (getting dlc content that requires it) can be done without paying a dime if you're in a decent guild. Otherwise it is a pure MMO and gives you major FOMO. This game made me quit MMOs lol.

Had fun making lore and ocs with friends, but kinda fell off playing because the MMO grind was too much as someone who was heading off to college. IDK PvP was okay but it is PvE focused (and the Citadel stuff is actually decent). Doing dungeons is a blast, but it does siphon you into making a meta build eventually or people will scream at you

It's like Bloons TD except the towers are the fish and the balloons are aliens

Somewhat just 100% the game (including getting all the fishes). Very fun and insane genre-parodying game. If you like simple tycoons without complicated crafting or money-making schemes definitely pick up this game. The devs already added new content right when I just finished the main story, so it's been great for replay value.

There's some issues with controls, but I feel like most of them have been addressed by the hotfixes or is just personal tastes (I don't like some of the quick time events, but they never felt super punishing). Some minigames felt confusing on what to do, but it's really not hard to look up what I'm supposed to be doing.

Pretty good puzzles. Rec not looking up a guide until you finish a game for achievement purposes. I think the first time I couldn't binge finish the game in a day and took constant breaks since it's a bit mind-meldy and gave me headaches lmao. Good game for people who need to scratch their Portal-esque puzzle itch, but def something to grab on sale

It kind of starts out feeling like an Undertale clone, like SUITS is to OFF, but it starts having its own unique voice and personality later into the game. Do give it a try and forgive like the first 30 minutes of the gameplay. It's def well worth the try if you enjoy Earthbound-quirky RPGs. It's like an anti-Undertale tbh. Also the fighting mechanics reminds me of Purple Skittles on roblox lol. There's a lot of random small-note rpgs this game reminds me of, and there's def a lot of love and passion in this game

EDIT: most of my hours in this game is trying to no-hit the bosses. It's rough

Cool pirate stuff

only con is toxic players who dont fight honorably lol

EDIT: Another review addressed this but the pvp/toxic community was the biggest turn off for this game. I kind of stopped playing since the fun of the game was ruined by the reaper players and the big pvp oriented event that happened. Wished they brought back the sea dogs or whatever and made that like an exclusively pvp server or had more incentive to do it there vs the main game to encourage new players/veterans to just have fun instead of being salty. Also I used to like this game with its approach to the "MMO grind with exclusives/events" but lately it feels like they end too fast/i feel more pressured to go online compared to other multiplayer/co op games that have event systems (like drg). Its still nice they last for several weeks-months instead of like a few days compared to other big MMOs.

Pro: that said there are amazing people you meet once in a while who aren't being malicious. I recommend the game as something to play with friends and not take seriously as your progress will 100% be stopped by someone. The atmosphere and vibes along with the use of audio cues is amazing.

At its current state I think Rare should focus on incentives for the PvP player base by changing where the fighting happens, whether its a pvp on/off server or just one where theres a higher incentive to just do pvp while keeping the treasure hunting. its def a rough choice and a lot of resources. Also main complaint personally tbh is that single player feels like a drag and awful to do NPC boss fights even on a sloop with repair management and focusing on attacks. There's nothing to really fix, but having an npc/deck worker you can hire with ingame gold only as a single player might be cool.

It's the quintessence of MMOs. Luckily it's definitely not pay 2 win and most of it's just if you **really** are raging at the fact you're under leveled or that you just want the sweet mounts and costumes. Everything's pretty linear, and you feel really rewarded when you craft that thing you spent hours on mining for or if you've finished a certain mission.

If you're not dedicated to grinding and having to mine for a lot of crafting materials OR you're a lonely internet person and have no friends then you probably wouldn't enjoy the game. It's a lot more fun to play with your mates (like most MMOs duh).
