I cannot in good conscience recommend this game.

I can look past the microtransactions. I can look past the daily (and meaningless) notifications you have to click away. What I can't look past, is the frustration.

This game promotes itself as a cozy, casual game, but what it actually does is wear you down. Each pizza topping requires 18 separate clicks in specific spots, all the while the customer's patience is ticking down because they ordered a supreme pizza (that's 108 clicks) and you're taking too long. God help you if they order multiple supremes. You will learn to hate supreme pizzas, and the people that order them.

There are upgrades to semi-auto place toppings (essentially down to two clicks), but they're so expensive that I've stopped purchasing new toppings (and therefore progress in the story), because I simply cannot handle clicking any more than I have to, and am now solely focused on grinding cash to buy these upgrades above all else. Even Cookie Clicker asks less clicking of you.

And then there are the customers. The ones that order plainly are fine; it's the ones that speak in riddles~ that'll aggravate you. You can spend your precious time making two of the perfect supreme pizzas, but then they'll get all huffy because you didn't use tomato sauce. The only indicator that they wanted that specific sauce? They saw someone in a red shirt. I like to think I'm a chill person these days, but this game? This game made me ragequit multiple times in the past few days. Judging by the other reviews, it's only going to get worse for me.

Buy this game if you really want to, just know what you're getting into. Otherwise, get Papa's Pizzeria.

UPDATE: After a further 6 hours of grind-focusing, it's not that bad once most of the ingredients can be auto'd. Still, the early game becomes a very steep hill of cash to overcome if you're just taking it chill letting the story progress without pausing for several days at a time to buy auto-upgrades for each ingredient as they unlock.

BAD UPDATE, WORSE UPDATE: Nevermind, a story homeless NPC is asking for $150, when I don't have the funds, asking me to make $100+ in a single day to not be in the red, when even at my sweatiest I can only manage $80-90, and there is no other way to earn funds. The only way to progress is to either keep busting my gut on this 'cozy, casual' game, tell the homeless man to get outta my store, or start again. Very cool, devs, very cool.

Excessive play may cause you to look at buildings and vehicles in real life and think, 'Ayup, reckon that could use a jet-stream of water'.

I'm an achievement hunter, but going back to start the game over again to get the ones I've missed just feels like bullying poor Siffy.

I only sell the strongest potions. You'd better find a different seller that sells weaker potions!

I've probably played this way more than I should've.

Filly Astray is a short platformer with fighting combos and controls. But be warned, it has a high learning curve; it took me a while to get used to the controls, accidentally automatically jumping off platforms I just managed to edgegrab onto, and I was in for a rude awakening when the mid-game boss just said 'no' to my spammed attacks and repeatedly pummelled me to death. It basically forced me to stop, and think about my attacks.

And once I did, once I did, I started understanding the game. I began understanding parts of my moveset I'd previously not bothered experimenting with before, the combos I could pull off, and which ones worked against certain enemies. And now I can easily speed through the game in under a half-hour. ...on Easy Difficulty.

I've then tried out Normal, and realised that while Easy taught me to think about my attacks, Normal is teaching me about the timing of my blocks. No longer will just holding down the Block button protect me from most attacks. I've got to parry that. Honestly, as someone who was never really amazing at fighting games, kinda exciting at this point!

Definitely worth picking up and sticking with, and not simply because of pony. (but yes, game has pone, is good)

I never had a step-dad, but I'd imagine Counter-Strike 2 feels like how it'd feel to be told I can't be with my real dad anymore.

Highly recommend just for the writing alone, if not the art and music, which both complement it very well. Very easy to get into, and there's enough mystery and intrigue around every corner to keep you pushing forward to the end. Not everything is clear-cut and dry, and multiple options allow you to build upon your character's story however you want as you work your way through without having to previously fill in a full-on checklist for several minutes before you even start.

I played casually, but I can easily see the higher difficulties' time limit working well with the story, if you want that extra challenge of figuring out what's the most important direction to push the story in before time's up.

also there's a horse

(but no, seriously, horse is good companion; don't be stupid and ride into danger)

Literally flipped my mouse as I tried to run when Greg turned the corner and sauntered towards me.
