Apart from the horrendeously lazy implementation of enemy "parry" windows (i.e scissor bug spamming to the left, and his broad backside on the right is completely invulnerable), and the inconsistent diagonal spike pogo landing the hit on obstacles, yet still damaging you, the game is mind boggingly fun, creative, full of surprise twists unfamiliar to it's prequel.

Compared to today's gaMiNg IndUstrY standards, it's basically free.

Significant improvement over the previous iteration!

Looking foward to see how this will translate to Darksiders 4 ;)

But pls no hardcrashes, really don't mix well with apocalyptic boss rushes. Not fun having to start over from the 18th.

Hopefully the second iteration improves on virtually every single front.

Wouldn't mind if you at least greyed out the the leaders that are unavailable DLC content. Discount ain't surprising, this is pretty much one third of a game, even on full price.

Kinda ruined my expectations when I imagined a Noita-type experience from the rumored "unyielding" nature of Rain World. Unfortunately the challenge is depleted in usually unwinnable predator placements in key areas, where they basically just wait until you pull your head out of the tunnel as you'd progress forward, and immediately catch you. This leaves you in constantly replaying a segment until a lucky respawn lures the pred away, by scavs, or some shiny whatever.Overall feel would be great, it's simply a shame how hard the game simply tries to rick roll you instead of offering an actual challenge.

Revision: After realizing how resource regrowth works, and how karma is basically useless if you only want to experiment with items, enemies, it's a pretty major perspective shift. Trial and error is still there, at least you're not actively being punished for doing that. Regardless, these are minor gripes to the over all interesting game world and it's ecosystem. Shame that coop is locked behind a paywall, but at least it's setup is fairly straightforward, and functional through remote play.

:,)

Almost quit after the intro sequence, but I underestimated the game, a LOT.

And here I thought they don't make masterpieces anymore...

Apart from the completely indestructible firepriest-fire..fighter(?) npc parties, that will inevitably murder you through:

the fire priests-
-gaining 6 strength per very frequent moves
-heal based on their STRENGTH modifier, which cannot be countered through the weakened debuff, for whatever reason.
-add a staggering 60 units of blocking when they get roughed up.

and the fighters
-having an insane 3-hit combo, that will quickly rise in deadliness exponentially thanks to the constant strength buffs.

Meanwhile all of the above have 144hp minimum. Heals start from 30hp to ALL party members, up to 100 points of hp regen. I held out until then, at least. *sob*

Either they are ridiculously unbalanced, or I didn't get enough strength buff cards, although if a character with 40~heal over turn buff (which I could double every 3-4 turns or so..), around 30 starter armor, and primarily damage dealing cards couldn't manage to kill at least one of TWO PRIESTS, I find it hard to believe it's possible without a godlike deck.

Apart from that, good game. Gotta get a haircut now, because I ripped my scalp off during my final fight with the fireboys. Doub't i'll ever get another ridiculously resilient build like this. :(
