I have been play testing House of Necrosis for several months, I have several hours among several different versions of this game (Ignore my steam game time, it's not remotely aaccurate) and I can confidently say that the final product is 100% worth your $10

If you like RE, vaguely tactical games or even just Pokemon/Chocobo Mystery dungeon, give this a shot

The game is good and people are severely overreacting to the monetisation.
I played SV1 at launch and it was way worse than this, yes packs are more expensive, but I am getting so much gold from so many different places.

You have a legendary guaranteed every 10 packs.
SV Park Keys constantly give me gold, I even got a free Albert (Legendary) out of it.

It really isn't as bad as people are screaming in the reviews.

My main complaint is really towards the liquify system, which I hope they readjust.
We should be able to liquify cards, even if we don't have 3 copies already.

I have 123 out of the 140ish cards in the base set and something like 14 legendaries already and I barely fought any online matches yet.

EDIT: I also have enough currency to craft 2 legendaries of my choice, almost 3

Amazing game, Amazing OST, Amazing Characters.
A Must play for any RPG Fans

It fizzles out a little bit towards the end but a great experience nonetheless

If I had a time machine, I'd go back in time and make sure whoever came up with the Weapon Master achievement was never hired

I wish I could leave a middle ground review.
The game is alright but it is lacking compared to its predecessor, little content, a lot of cut classes, etc.
I don't hate the 3D models, I actually like the look of the game, all things considered

I'm giving it a thumbs down for the next gen pricing when this is a previous gen game and a low budget one at that.
It's alright, I recommend it, but wait for a big sale or a price drop of any kind.

TLDR; This is a very welcome take on a cult classic, it's a must for SRPG fans.

At first glance, Tactics ogre reborn may look like a straight port of the 2010 PSP release of the same game. While the PSP version was a remake of the original for SNES, it made some mistakes when it came to a few changes. Tactics Ogre Reborn aims to correct those.

To: Reborn walks a very fine line between Remaster and Remake, so much that I wouldn't call it one or the other. On the surface, TO: Reborn looks exactly like the PSP version, give or take a little up-scaling here and there and a few filters on the sprites (Which you may ore may not like).

However, as soon as you start playing it you'll find out quite a few things were changed:

- First of all, the entire OST was Remastered and given a full Orchestral rendition, the OST is absolutely amazing.

- Full voice acting was added

- You'll also notice that the entire UI was revamped and streamlined, making it much nicer to navigate.

- The skill system was completely revamped, allowing you 4 skills instead of the 10 allowed on PSP. At first I thought that would be an issue, but a lot of the extra skills were relegated to gear pieces that will come with additional skill equipped. It allows for more choices when it comes to gear instead of "Big number = Better"

- Level requirements for gear were removed.

- The levelling system was changed. Instead of levelling classes, you level characters now, unlocking skills as they level up. This means that changing classes no longer renders your units useless until you level them up. They can immediately be useful

- The crafting system was fixed! No more resetting because you failed your crafting attempt for the 7th time! (It can no longer fail)

- New skills, new items, etc.

- Sprinkle in a few QoL such as Fast forwarding so fights can move along faster.

And there's probably much more I can't remember right now because I am drawing a blank at this point. I was very excited for this release and it shattered my expectations. I highly recommend this, buy it.

I am not super far into the game yet but first impressions are really good.
The game is beautiful, the English dub is pretty good so far and unlike some people leaving bad reviews here I have no controller issues.

Try disabling Steam beta if you're having trouble with controller support.
For me, support is as far as showing me the right button prompts in game for my PS4 controller, which tells me controller issues are on the user's side and not the game "lacking controller support"

I'll update this later with a full review when I've beaten this thing

People are review bombing the GMS2 steam page because of the recent change to a subscription based model instead of a one time purchase software. While I understand the complaint, I also think these comments are misleading potential new users and also kind of oblivious to the current state of these types of software.

First of all, if you own Game Maker Studio 2 already or buy it through steam right now (Until they change it), you are getting a permanent license, you will not be affected by the subscription model until Game Maker Studio 3 comes out... or whatever they decide to call it.

Secondly, while they changed the software to a subscription model, they also modified the free version of GMS2 to be unlimited, no more 30 day free trial. You download it and you keep it forever, for free. That's a huge improvement. That's not even mentioning that the only thing you're locked out of with the free license is exporting and even that is being changed. We don't know everything yet but so far, they're adding exports to the Opera browser as part of the free package, which is pretty cool.

Now, I've also seen some comments say that GMS is not worth a subscription. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I'll have to disagree. GMS's accessibility alone is worth its subscription price of $10 a month (or $100 a year). It can serve as a perfect gateway for new devs because of how approachable it truly is. That free forever version also helps tremendously. You even have the option to pay that sub whenever you're ready to export and voila, you saved 90 bucks.

I also see people pushing users towards Unity or Godot, which is also something I disagree with. I recommend checking them out, all engines are valid but Unity is a giant beast that will easily turn newcomers away with how much a monster it is these days (Powerful and flexible but... it's not the most user friendly thing). Godot on the other hand is free, it looks nice but it has a big lack of support. Finding help online isn't the easiest thing in the world and, the software being open source, development on it is really slow and some features just won't be fleshed out for what could be a really long time... So yeah... Check them out, but it's not the holy grail either.

Of course, I'd prefer to keep my one time purchase license forever, it'd be way better for my wallet. However, a one time fee of $100 is not a sustainable model in 2021, to be fair, I am surprised it lasted that long without YoYo games going under. They must have been haemorrhaging money with this. This is a software they have to maintain and update on a regular basis, add new features , pay staff for support, pay staff to develop for it, the list goes on.

To be fair, looking at what Opera has been doing with GMS ever since they acquired YoYo games, I'll gladly pay my 100 bucks a year whenever that's necessary. I've seen GMS being advertised for the first time in forever, they held gamejams with amazing prize pools, etc.

I assume the subscription model will come with better development and support for GMS (Which, so far, is supported by the new GMS Roadmap) and until this is proven no longer true, I will disagree with the negative reviews on here.

TL;DR: Sure it sucks that I can't pay 100 bucks once and own this forever.
No it's not a big deal, it comes with advantages and disadvantages and, to be fair, should've happened sooner.

Also I like using GMS a lot it's nice, it's chill and GML is pretty accessible
I don't have that many hours on here, but I've been using the software off steam for a while as well as GMS 1.4 before it.

I just finished this game last night and I am still thinking about it this afternoon.
I fell in love with the world, with the cast ad everyone in it.

I am gonna need a few weeks to recover from this game,
Please, if you're on the fence, do yourself a favour and play Yakuza: Like a Dragon

I am a huge Yakuza fan and Yakuza 7 is my new favourite in the franchise.
