A second entry in the Enigma trilogy.

If you like analog visuals inspired by Local58, Mandela Catalogue and some reality bending ♥♥♥♥, this one will be right up your alley.

One very important thing you should know though - the core game this is not the full experience that will lead you to the Echostatis, and probably not even the best part of that experience.

Feel free to beat the core game with a guide if you're having trouble after getting familiar, and then move on to MOTHERED - DEMO + [HOME]. The [HOME] part is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing, the art direction and storytelling is an insane upgrade from the cpre game.

I can shove goblins off high ground so that they fall to death. This a known fantasy tradition that is also featured in Dark Messiah of Might And Magic, Dwarf Fortress, etc. This surely lets me know that this is a classic (and, mind you, classy) RPG worthy of my money and time.

I have around 20 hours of playtime on Xbox and Steam combined. And I love it.

Halo: Infinite is my first experience with Halo Multiplayer. And I have to say - I get the hype around the classic Halo games now.
This is a really good competitive shooter. It has a lot more Quake in it's DNA than any other modern shooter title.
Not really in terms of speed, of course, it's Halo and your average player won't be able to do crazy fast Quake stuff on a controller. Where it is similar is in it's gameplay mechanics and freedom to experiment. No perk systems with meta loadouts built by players before matches, no grind for new weapons, no OP weapons that make every other weapon in the game useless if you want to compete (I'm looking at you, COD).

Maps are fun to explore and learn. Map knowledge is really important here.
Different weapons have different uses and not just range-wise, situation-wise too. Some break shields extremely fast but barely scratch the core HP after that, some are not that effective against shields, but do a lot of raw damage. This brings variety and excitement to combat engagements. Different grenades and items also allow for versatile playstyles and clever uses.
It may look outdated to some, but it is extremely fun and brings back the competitive spirit that I feel has been missing from the latest shooter titles. It probably won't wow a modern Battlefield enthusiast, sure, but I'll be damned if this is not the type of game a lot of people who have experience with more classic shooters wanted for a long time. Just give it a try if you feel like multiplayer shooters didn't feel right lately. This one does feel very right in my experience.

And yeah, while the multiplayer is in beta at this moment it has way-way-way-way less technical issues than most of the full-priced multi(and single)player titles fully released this year. It's a damn shame that this is something you have to praise nowadays, but this is the reality of current AAA gaming.

The only few things I wish the devs would do:
- Work out the battle pass progression because it's really slow and downright predatory. Even though it's planned to be "Buy the BP once, have the BP forever" it should allow for quicker progression.
- Remove SBMM, add persistent game lobbies and a server browser to allow communities to grow around servers.
- Optimize the game for PC. This game has clean graphics that may look like they're from around the end of 360 era, but if you look closer it really doesn't look like that. It's just an art style that may make it look a bit dated. However, it still does not have any reason to run so poorly on decent hardware. I mean I gave in and bought a Series S after the horrendous port of Forza Horizon 5 and poor Halo Infinite performance, but not everyone can just drop cash on a console on a whim. The multiplayer here is free-to-play, it should be accessible on a range of hardware with decent performance to not alienate players.
- Don't even start working on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Battle Royale mode and just keep working on perfecting the core Halo experience. This game does not need BR, anyone that says it does should pick another game to slap an unnecessary BR mode on or just keep playing the BR of their choice. I know people want something new from the genre, but this is not the game that would be able to give you a good BR experience. It is not made for it, wasting development time on a subpar BR mode that will die out almost instantly is the worst choice.

Game: Good.
PC Port: Disgusting and unacceptable. Framerate issues, pop in issues, texture issues, environment issues, pixelated smoke, looks like it's not running in 1080p when it clearly is set to run in 1080p.

Pros:
- Very cheap for the amount of content, variety, and fun it offers
- No predatory monetization system
- The colorful gameplay makes my monkey brain go YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH
- Does not take up 100GB (or even 10GB) on your hard drive and still has all them glorious beards I AM LOOKING AT YOU MODERN WARFARE 2019, I REMEMBER HOW YOU HAD TO TAKE UP MORE THAN 100GB JUST TO FIT THE BEARD OF CAPTAIN PRICE IN THE GAME
- You can rock and stone

Cons:
- Sometimes spamming V to rock and stone gives you a silent pickaxe lift animation which is not good
- Having to spam WE'RE RICH at a compressed gold chunk for quite a while before mission control gets annoyed
- Deep Rock seriously needs to invest in some better equipment

Because of the above cons I have to give this game a 0/10 thank you for coming to my Dwarf TED Talk
PLEASE JUST BUY THIS GAME, IT'S SO GOOD THEY JUST DON'T MAKE GAMES LIKE THIS OFTEN NOWADAYS

I can't even begin to describe how much worse this one is than Zero in so many aspects.
The combat is much more sluggish, less flashy, and more tedious. The boss fights are extremely non climactic and if you are upgraded enough, you can find the one move you can exploit and just zone out, hitting the same buttons until you win.
The skill trees are a lot less convenient too.
Granted, you could complete Zero on normal just mashing two buttons, but this is on another level.
In Zero, it felt like could have an in-depth approach to your moves and really kick ♥♥♥♥ in, but you could also kick ♥♥♥♥ in without being in depth and have fun.
Here, both approaches feel stiff and boring.
I also liked how music changed depending on the style you have selected, but it's not an option here.
Perhaps they wanted this to be more faitful to the original, but since the game is kind of built from the ground up I have no clue why they did not add this feature.

Majima everywhere system and the story are nice, I guess.
It still has that Yakuza charm, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is it worse than Zero.

UPDATE: You know what? ♥♥♥♥ it.
This is now a thumbs down review because I have reached the car chase stage.
"Real Yakuza use a gamepad" my ass, may lord help you if you are playing through this stage on a gamepad. Switched to KB&M on my third try and my finger hurt from clicking through the stage.
Again, there was a car chase in Zero, but it was nowhere this tedious, and this stage is what REALLY got me to understand why I feel so bad.
Basically, this game = Yakuza Zero but worse.
It is very weird seeing how it is based on Yakuza Zero, and not the other way around, as far as I know, since it downgrades on so many things. I have no clue how they managed to ♥♥♥♥ it up in most departments.
