Unoptimised and buggy but oddly charming. It was fun for the 15 odd minutes I played.

This game is trying to be two games at once, a very good game about being a graveyard keeper and a half baked CoD Zombies. I enjoy the daytime a lot, its quite fun to juggle everything but the night time sucks, it feels like its designed purely to waste your money on traps, guns and ammo.

Not a fan, it feels like they had a good idea for a new IP and someone forced them to cram it into CoD. There's no bots for Campaign so you will get steamrolled, there's a weird weapon pack-a-punch, enemies have health bars and don't just die with headshots anymore, the difficulty doesn't feel like it scales for Solo Campaign vs 4 Player. If you disliked Modern Warfare 2023 you'll also hate this, its got the same weird open-world that feels like a Warzone map and all the cool moments from MW1, MW2, BO Cold War and BO 6 have been entirely removed and replaced with a soul-less husk of a game.
Its a shame Activision want to make this weird unified "Call of Duty" game and are force merging Warzone, MP, Zombies and Campaign into this really poorly managed turd that is removing all creativity from the series, unless someone high up at Activision hits the brakes on this then its RIP Call of Duty.

Early Access Review
Incredibly gorey and pretty fun, not a huge fan of not being able to grab NPCs with both hands and them wriggling around stupidly when you do pick them up.

Spent 30 of the 37 minutes I played trying to get the AI to do anything at all.
Didn't listen, and manual responses broke when trying to scale the 3 pillars at the fountain.

Latest:
They've updated and added the PAL voice lines to the game and key binding. However the key binds aren't what we're all used to with individual keys being bound, you have to bind them all at once in a sequence. There is also still no mouse support.

16 Jun:
No input rebinds, P for crouch and A for jump makes me have to break my fingers to be able to play this game. Whoever decided the default keybinds was on drugs. There's also no mouse support AT ALL

Doom The Dark Ages feels like the original goal was to reboot the Hexen franchise that was then pivoted a few years in to be a Doom game. It has the shell of a Doom game but the fun things like the glory kills, tap to dodge and chunky feeling weapons are gone and the soundtrack is bland chugging guitars. The OST for this game was also done by the same group that did the OST for Borderlands 3 and Halo Wars 2, rather than a smaller group like Mick Gordon or David Levy and Andrew Hulshult.

It is a fantastic game but its not a great Doom game. I miss the mechanics of Doom 2016 and the dodge mechanics of Eternal. The music also takes a massive back seat which is a shame because the main character of Doom 2016 was the soundtrack.

Fantastic experience so far.
I didn't have any issues with the first TLOU until about 4 patches in so I hope it doesn't happen with this game either.

It doesn't do anything for me, I'd rather see a from scratch remake of Half-Life 2 in the Source 2 engine by Valve themselves.

(I'm sorry to everyone who put their time and so much hard work into making this, your custom models and materials look amazing)

Its Half-Life 2 with the Source 2 engines lighting, a mix of remade and upscaled original HL2 graphics and the awful performance we got with Portal RTX.

Path Tracing really doesn't do much here, sure the bump mapped materials and PBR based shaders look great but they're not really RTX Remix specific. The remade models look really nice but then when you mix in the original HL2 environments, upscaled textures and performance issues the end result isn't a noteworthy piece in the long list of Half-Life community created content. Black Mesa had heart to it because it was recreated by a team who wanted to retell the games story with a few modern mechanics, a graphical overhaul and redesigned environments. This is just a weird ad for the 50xx Nvidia cards
