It is honestly a fantastic game and you should play it now that it is free to pick up. It does have a kind of steep learning curve but it is well worth learning how to play it even though that might take many hours. I would say there is huge replayability in it but with the somewhat random nature of the game it is pratically a given.

Something that does suck about CK2 is that without the dlc the game feels unfinished, as a lot of features arn't unlocked in the base game, and seeing how expensive it is for the full game, I see why someone would be off put by the price. But that is more a problem with Paradox's dlc policy

I would also like to caution some if you want to pick up the game seeing that a new Crusader Kings title is not that far away.
Whilst picking up the game dosn't hurt, i would recomend you wait with buying dlc until after CK3 has been released and you're sure you want it, and when the dlc until they are on sale.
