The game with it's Spellcrafting mechanic is very fun and maybe even one of the best implementations of a spellcrafting system that I've seen, but the game is way too short! If you dabble in programming or scripting, you may find this game's combat to be way too easy like I did.
I finished the game in less than 4 hours! After I finished the game I noticed that there was an option to increase the difficulty in the settings, I think this should have been hinted at ingame! I beat the final boss, only getting hit once by him. I think the Sword guy Boss (I don't mean the scythe wielding death boss) was way more difficult than final boss :(
There's next to no story in the game. There's one, but it's so bland that it would not have made a difference if there wasn't one!
The bosses are very easy once you learn to block their projectiles with wards.
The game was really fun for me, because I love modifying spells like this and coming up with my own solutions.
But the game only uses these spells for Combat. You can disable some movement puzzle traps with the Ward, but there's no puzzles that require you to make a specific spell except for the one "block this projectile shooting trap with a ward so that you may pass", and then after that puzzle, all the projectile traps are replaced with faster shooting projectile traps that cannot be blocked with Wards.

You'll enjoy this game if you want to have full freedom to customizing your spells. I know I did!

For Isaac, pls make a sequel with this Spellcrafting system, it was great. But also pls write a better story for it. Maybe play some truly good metroidvanias like Animal Well. You could make something really cool with the Spellcrafting system that you got here!

If you are into programming or writing code. You are very likely to enjoy this game!
I know I did, and all I had was some experience in writing C++.

The game pushes you naturally to learn to write your own scripts using real code(netscript and javascript), and you are rewarded by progressing faster and doing less stuff by hand.
After playing for about an hour, you can purchase permanent bonuses that let you progress further and faster, they are called Augmentations, like in your usual idle games.
After you choose to install them and let 'em take effect, your progress is reset.
But you get to keep your permanent bonuses.(This includes your Augmentations, all of your saved scripts on your home computer, and your home computer upgrades(more RAM, core upgrades))

After a reset, you get to shine by running ur scripts. A startup script that u wrote should and can do everything u did. and get u up and running faster than before! :)

Bitburner is at first VERY heavy with the new information load: There is a lot of text, everywhere, and u might not know where to look. This feeling disappeared for me on my second startup of the game, after 2 hours of playing. I guess I slept on it and then I got through it somehow haha.

As of writing this I have 6 hours in the game, and i have purchased Augmentations once. (meaning i have reset my progress once)
I don't write reviews very often, but I felt that for this game, I want to!:)
I think it's a bit special in what it does haha

10/10, one of the hardest games to master but boy I imagine it'd feel great once you do :)
I really love it. There are characters and items you unlock when you play. The items you can then randomly find in the different floors in the game. The characters have their own playstyles and priority item types.
When you die or reach one of the ends you can start from the beginning again.

Planet Centauri can be compared to games like Terraria and Starbound, and my favorite feature in the game is that you can design and craft your own spells and have them behave as you like.

For example, your first spell might just be a fireball that costs 10 mana to use and deals 12 damage to enemies and apply burn.
But later in game you can, if you're insane enough, cast a fireball which when destroyed casts 12 other fireballs, which when destroyed each cast a black hole that eats blocks and enemies alike.
I'd like more spell options though, currently there's only one spell that can affect you, the caster, and that is simple and boring Healing.

But yeah, I can recommend the game for it's spell creation system! :)

I like this game for the freedom in building it provides. You can build almost anything you can think of!
There are currently 2 different game modes in the game, Exploration and Sumo Arena.
Exploration is sort of a campaign where you complete missions on different planets to progress and mine resources to upgrade your weapons.
The Sumo Arena is where you'll build drones that the AI that you built onto that drone using "yes or no" kind of blocks, the drone will then try to stay in the circle as long as possible and or try and push out other drones that people have made. I've spent many hours in this mode trying to perfect different drones and make my AI do the things I want it to do.
