Incredibly fun to play around in, making all sorts of cool looking planes (and cursed monstrosities). Missions are still very simple, so completing the campaign isn't that hard or long currently, but very excited to see how it grows.

While it has it problems with bugs and performance issues, overall the game is a lot of fun. If you're a fan of the series it's a buy in its current state imo, but if you're not super invested in the series or don't want to have to resort to console commands to fix some things then I would strongly recommend waiting until some more major patches come out and bugs are fixed. (Hopefully A-Life is fully up and running soon!)

They really brought the STALKER atmosphere in strong, with the fully open map with no transition zones making it more immersive to travel around than the earlier games. Being let loose on the majority of the world so early on really lets you explore and I found that extremely interesting.

The story was a little drawn out in some places, but overall was quite good. I wish they used some of the old factions more, and of the new ones Spark is a little underwhelming, but I found ward to be an extremely interesting faction and the moral choices in the game do feel very related to the moral greyness of the earlier games as well. I also like how they made the pivotal story points and faction choices very obvious so you don't get blindsided from your choices.

The gunplay mechanics over the older games have vastly improved, which is a big plus.

Game is a lot of fun with friends. Expect lots of ragdolling and friendly fire chaos!

Edit: Sony has said they are removing PSN account requirements but game is still blocked for purchase in over 100 countries. Doesn't feel like a victory when the divers we're trying to protect won't be able to spread managed democracy.
Edit: Sony finally made the game available in majority of countries, FOR SUPER EARTH!

Farcry 5 starts out extremely strong. The opening scene gave me chills due to the uncanny vibe / atmosphere and it got me pumped for the game like crazy. It is an opening I rate very highly among the other games in this series, with a fully fleshed out antagonist as to be expected from the Farcry franchise.

Everything after that goes downhill, and fast.
This was a game I really wanted to like, but by the end of the game I had lost all enthusiasm for it. I couldn't even bother finish watching the ending cutscene, opting to just Alt+F4 so I could go do something better.

In terms of story, there are some very good side missions and I found that both John and Jacob have interesting premises and are engaging, but Faith and the ending are a complete and utter wash.
Faith tries to go for an "innocence with bite" vibe that falls flat. The character is boring, the cutscenes are boring, the hallucination mechanic is interesting at best, but gets old very fast. She almost feels shoehorned in, with very little gameplay elements telling her story, opting to instead spoon feed it through cutscenes.
All three also suffer from overusing the "You got knocked out so we can tell more of the story" trope which got old after the 3rd time (Note that it happens around 10 times), especially when it just wasn't needed. Scenes where there was no need to knock you out because there were other plausible factors to progress the scene, yet they still did. Instead of leading you, the game forced you. It was frustrating from a gameplay and story perspective.
The ending feels straight out of left field with no obvious explanation. It is like they were told at the last minute they needed to tie it into the next game and barely managed to slap together something resulting in a mess that makes no sense. It gave no closure and it failed in its goal of hyping the next game. I am in the middle of a Farcry binge and started 5 right after putting about 100 hours into 4, so I was planning to go onto the next game but now I want to take a break. This game managed to end on such a terrible note that because it ties into the next game I lost my momentum on one of my favourite game series.

The gameplay itself is also weak. Controls are jerky for both ground and vehicles, the enemies alternate between either being defeated by a strong breeze or being a bullet sponge, followers not pathing correctly, and a slew of other bugs that interrupt the flow. Thankfully I experienced nothing game breaking, but having to quit and reopen the game because a cutscene broke, or trying to prod things until it manages to reset a checkpoint and continue the mission got old.

I'd probably give this a 5/10 because it does satisfy the requirements of a "mediocre" game that I could get a decent amount of time out of, but it is hands down the worst Farcry I have played in the series, period.
I currently have a bit less than 30 hours in Farcry 5 and don't see myself playing much more. There is no denying I tried really hard to like it and I can see such potential in the story, but it just doesn't get there.

I keep coming back to Deep Rock, it is consistent in its entertainment. Although it is mostly just the same kind of missions over and over, you know what to expect and it is fun to kill a few hours in, especially with friends. Some minor balancing issues with the games modes that still need to be ironed out, but other than that it is a great game and well worth the price

Very fun and extremely immersive.
For a fixed storyline driven game there is also a surprising amount of choice; Levels where you can sneak past or murder everything in sight, your choice.

The sheer amount of hours I've invested into this game should be a testimate to how compelling it is
