Paranoia: The Game.

Game's great. Gameplay always has you on the edge of your seat, senses maxed out to see or hear anything closeby or in the distance. If you do meet somebody, are they an enemy? Are they at the extraction point to take your stuff, or take something even more valuable of their own? Was that guy you just killed on his own? Did anybody hear your gunfight?

It's all packaged in this neat little window of game mechanics. There are some improvements which can be made, but hey, given how dedicated this gang is to The Finals, I have no doubt we'll see some major (if not more) dev attention here, too.

The biggest downside at the moment is the monetisation. For a premium game, you pay Free-To-Play prices for cosmetics. It doesn't appear that the premium currency is salvagable (idk why, this is a game where you salvage rare stuff), and in a few cases, their F2P title (The Finals) actually has far better value. Hopefully Arc Raiders gets sorted out in this regard.

Overall, proud of the team over at Embark Studios for delivering another crowd pleaser.

Early Access Review
Repo is a great game to play with friends, it's fun and quirky while also being spooky and mysterious.

My biggest gripe is that despite it's success and the promises behind such success, the game's updates are extremely scarce, so things get stale once you figure out what you're doing. As of writing this review, the game has been released for 8 months and has only had one content update. No, this isn't a solo developer.

The promise was to support this game for a limited amount of time, but the "support" is so few and far between that I can't see myself being excited for anything.

Helldivers 2 is a very good and fun game, but I'll always remember it as "that game that strongarmed it's huge fanbase in to politics when it should have stood up for itself"

Don't like that.
2/10.

War Thunder is technically brilliant, but falls incredibly short in the balancing department. Far too often (in every game you queue for) will you find yourself completely outmatched in your battle bracket, with a painfully clear bias towards Russia, because that's where the development team are from.

This leaves a new player in a bit of a predicament: choose Russia or be at even more of a disadvantage against the veterans you're up against.

The new player experience is absolutely the worst I've experienced in modern gaming, too. Beginner vehicles don't have the same crutches that high-tier vehicles provide, and with an incredibly long and grindy road ahead, there's little incentive to continue being miserable until you get to the "fun" part of the game.

If War Thunder was more welcoming, and fixed it's balancing issues, I suspect it would have a much larger playerbase than it already has- because it really is a great game.

Exploration: The Game.

Lots of mechanics, secrets, hidden mechanics, collectables and perfectionist basebuilding to keep anybody entertained for hours and hours on end. It's difficult to die in the "normal" mode, so the focus really is just on having fun and exploring.
While incredibly enormous and massively huge, it has this magical way of making you feel like what you found was really special, and it keeps you fuelled to go on for more.

10/10 thanks for not screwing us over, Hello Games. Looking forward to Light No Fire.

This game has many great features, mechanics, runs well, looks pretty, gives great customisation options and is relatively bug-free.

But this game is not recommended to absolutely anybody because of it's intensely frustrating gameplay.

My main critique of the game is that it feels almost impossible to play against real players. The game is bot-infested (yes, even in ranked game modes), and the AI is on a difficulty of "mechanically impossible to beat in combat and can see through walls and in a 360 field" and "cannot path well".
On top of this, the balancing of this game is awful. Beyond individual mechs being far more overtuned than others, there is a PvPvE game mode where the optimal way to play is to camp the extraction nodes because the enemy will always have less health from you after they have encountered some PvE enemies. It's real garbage, so nobody plays it and we end up with 1.5 hour queue times (this is not an exaggeration)

If I had the option to play against ONLY players, I would rate this game highly. However, it is INTENSELY frustrating to play this game with AI in every single game I play.

The Finals oozes charisma along with slick gameplay. Feels like a passion project that developers might have enjoyed making, and I'm here for it.

There's a few minor bugs and quality of life features which I think are missing, but overall the performance, gameplay and features overtake any negatives which might derive from those missing features.

Monster Hunter has a breathtakingly fulfilled world, although the dumbed-down gameplay and lack of meaningful content updates make the game feel stale. The biggest flaw of the game is it's atrocious optimisation, reaching 45 fps on an RTX 5070, it's barely managable.

Once the game has relatively decent performance, I can immerse myself in the game. Until then, I don't think this game is worth picking up

This game was a 7/10 on release, but had crappy replayability. Darktide now has so much content that it feels like you'll never be out of stuff to do, and all of it has fun replayability value, too.
9.5/10, does the Warhammer 40k setting in a horde-focused game very well.
