This game is the definition of wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle.

I will start off with the Positives.

1. Some places look nice.
2. The music is pretty good.
3. some of the weapons are interesting.

The Cons.

1. Loading screens everywhere. You will be spending the majority of the game looking at them. Game has to load after you get out of your pilots seat (stopping you dead in space I might add). Loading screen going into even the most smallest buildings, loading screen to get on off your ship, loading screen to go to another system. Just again and again and again.

2. No meaningful exploration or space travel. Many locations are repeated, even in the main quest line.

3. Bugs, People falling through the floor, flying off into nothingness and clipping through objects.

4. Brain dead AI and I do mean Brain dead, they have no path finding, will lose interest randomly, or spot you from a km away.

5. Dialogue so bad it hurts.

6. All the companions I have met so far are soulless sacks of meat, devoid of all character and charm. Except the robot, I can at least stand him.

7. A story that is so bland and uninspired that it makes doing the main quest lines a chore.

As an example, SPOILERS for the start of a game.

You are Faceless Miner on his second day. You, for whatever reason are immediately chosen to get this super valuable object, which of course gives you space visions. You are then met by the guy who sent you after the object and no matter what you have said beforehand, knows you had visions and are now the chosen one. He just gives you his ship and robot and tells you to leave his ass on this random mining site.

Even for Bethesda this is low effort, sort of like how you are supposed to care about your son in Fallout 4 but have no real reason to. Like in this you have simply no reason to care about anything that is going on. Also the "explorers" you get signed up with tell you they don't give two ♥♥♥♥♥ if you are an evil POS. However they will get all upset with you the moment you do anything against the law.

My advice, wait for it to go on Sale, or at leas until mods have fixed this mess of a game.

Final score 5/10, Peak Mediocrity.

Early Access Review
I would like to say to anyone that reads these reviews to please only look at the Recent Reviews. The early reviews are mostly high hopes to a much anticipated game. That is by now let's face it, going no where. The lack of development and direction in this game is embarrasing. One of the biggest problems with the game at the moment. Is the lack of actual zombies. For a zombie game it is rather zombie free. A lot of the time you might hear them but they are usually under ground or standing stock still until you go tap them on the shoulder. I am not going to go into great depth on the visuals or other aspects of the game. Simply because the game is not feature complete by a long run. I have a few hundred hours in the original Dayz which was by no means perfect. However compared to this it is far beyond comparison. If you are interested in a purely PVP experience with maybe seeing a zombie like some rare form of wildlife. Then this game may actually hold your attention for a few hours. But for someone who loves the pvp and the added threat of infected along with the feeling you are in some sort of zombie apocolypse. This game misses the mark by a clear mile.

TLDR: Game is a broken buggy mess with no Zombies. Unlikely to ever be what was promised. Save your money and just play the Mod.
