Spent too much time creating my character, couldn't decide what traits to add.

Early Access Review
I had 10 hours of fun but was also very frustrated as well.
Not much to do in the game in the war aspect. You beat the enemy and then nothing happens. You can't even beat the bandits because every time they spawn the enemy lord also spawns as well to kill them. If the enemy lord is claiming land you can use some diplomacy option to make them leave without cost. If you beat them you get no resources. Archers are COMPLETE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the game and when the only mercenaries you can get are archers you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥. There is no balancing what so ever and your troops sometimes don't even attack they just stand there and cheer. The building part is good but the managing part is lacking tremendously. Only 2 policies are available and 5 skill point options. I think that this game will be very good in a year or two just was an unfinished product.

This was my first time playing a Ys game and I played as Yunica Tovah at a normal difficulty. Let me start off with what I really liked. The graphics and character designs were very beautiful despite the game being a little bit old. The music was a masterpiece really added emotion to certain scenes and energy to battles. Combat was very fun and most of the levels were very well designed. Bosses were tricky enough to feel satisfaction after beating as well and learning the mechanics were a must. One extremely important tip was to spend time grinding levels before doing a challenging boss or if you attempt a boss and its too hard to beat then grind levels. It only takes you 5-20 minutes to get 2-3 levels if you can find a good room with a lot of enemies to farm. You can kill the enemies and then go out of the room and go back in to reset the enemies and repeat it over and over again. Getting levels makes you do more damage and the enemies do less to you so they can change the game completely since the enemies don't scale to your level. I finished one play-through on Yunica Tovah and maybe will do a few more but just really don't want to play from the beginning again as I was relived to finish the game. Story was decent I was hoping to see a more in depth and better ending lore wise but it was a super fun run, I would definitely recommend it. Now time to go play the next few games of the Ys series.

What I really didn't like. I had to watch a youtube walk-through the whole time I played the game because you would get to a specific place and have no idea what to do as you missed a chest two floors below which could only be seen by using an artifact and then teleport back to go get the item in order to progress the game. This happened multiple times and was very frustrating. Secondly, Silent Sands was the worst level design I have ever seen. You slip as you fight monsters. Little bugs do 60 damage on hit and are not only super fast but very tanky as well. And skeleton sand bugs that were glowing in red only took 1 dmg from any sort of attack. The boss in Silent Sands took me over a hour to beat even after knowing the mechanics because my level was not high enough and I not only did little damage but also took a lot of damage. Only after leaving the boss and farming a few levels was I able to beat it. I feel like that was the last challenging boss, all the following bosses were super easy including the final one.

pvp is garbage pve is garbage and stories are garbage. Play this game and you will get tilted off your rocker like literally the pvp makes no sense at all. There are no classes, no item set bonuses and you get ganked by 50 people or easily killed by a crossbow p$$sy who just runs and attacks in the red or black zone and lose all your items and have to spend real money on the game

The story is S tier, characters are S tier, karaoke S tier, and combat S tier. Nothing more satisfying than stomping on someone's head and then treating yourself to karage and solo karaoke.
