Introduction:
If you enjoy PvE FPS games, then Payday 2 is a great choice to pick up and give a try. I was always intrigued by this title from watching game plays on Youtube of people going through heists with ninja-like skills or guns blazing, so when I saw that this game was on sale months back I decided to try it for myself and so far I enjoy it. Though this game is not perfect by any means, which I will cover later.

Customization:
Unfortunately for me I have not played the first Payday so I cannot really compare the two, although I am sure I haven't missed out on too much. Payday 2 is a perfect mix of customization and playing the way you want to play for most of the heists available in the base game. I've spent a lot of time trying to create the perfect load out for different types of situations, which the amount of customization in this game handles very well. Masks, armor, attachments, playable characters are just a handful of things out of many of what you can customize.

Gameplay:
The gameplay is enjoyable, but it is best when playing with friends. Playing with other people online is what I have done mostly, which can be a mixed bag. The "Crime.net" mission selector can be inconvenient and disorienting for newer players with heists scattered all over the map. Though I am thankful there is a filter to eliminate choices that you don't want, I wish there was an option to make choosing missions more easily and make it more organized. When playing with others online, it can be a good or bad outcome. It's not the game's fault however, it's the players. A lot of the time I have joined people who were hacking, and instead of anything being done about it they instead get a "Cheater" tag above their name. They aren't kicked, banned, etc; they are just called out as hackers. I wish there was a better system for taking care of these people as it can get annoying when looking for heists.

The guns in this game feel very satisfying, though the melee weapons fall a bit on the weak side unless you are using a build that increases their damage. The gun attachments and parts are very diverse for pretty much the entire weapon, and can be changeable to your liking. Although I am a bit disappointed at the lack of sights and stocks in the base game (which goes for all weapons), I am still pretty pleased.

The AI can be really stupid at times, though in a game with killing whatever comes in your path you won't really notice it at first. You really start to notice this once you are playing the more difficult missions. I expected the AI to be more difficult and smarter when going against my crew and I, though all that is changed is that they deal more damage and take more damage, which yes proves it to be difficult but doesn't seem challenging. If you happen to have a bot on your crew, be prepared to either be thankful or doubtful, as the bots seem to have godlike health and can heal you easily, but can be very idiotic at the same time and walk around as they are getting shot at from every direction.

Soundtrack:
The soundtrack in this game is one of the best. That's all.

Issues I Had But Were Fixed:
One of the issues I had were the skin safes. I was disappointed to see that the game was going a CS:GO route which I did not want to happen. Though the developers knew this and we can simply open safes for free which is really nice.
The safe house before the recent update was useless. There was no personality to it; it was all bland. When the new update came out however I was very pleased. There is now actual meaning to the safe house; leveling up, playing missions inside of it, getting missions from the variety of different characters within the game. The developers have done a really nice job with this.

Issues I still Have:
I'm sure a lot of people also have this issue and that is the amount of DLC. There is a lot of DLC in this game, and I realize that the developers need to make money, but I don't believe this is a way to do it. A lot of people who play games enjoy free content such as myself. In fact, I have seen many people go into their game files just to get these DLCs for free. I would be more than fine purchasing DLC that is worthwhile, although what we have now seems lacking in content. I have purchased a few weapon packs but was disappointed to see nothing was really in them besides a few weapons and some skins for my mask, which mind you a lot of these packs are worth, in cash, 1/4 compared to the base game. These items are already in the game, you just need to purchase the DLC to unlock them
As I have said before there are a lot of hackers in this game and I wish they were taken care of more harshly.

Conclusion:
This is a good game if you are wanting to look for a good online PvE game to play with your friends. I would recommend to purchase this while during a sale, and if you have a few more bucks left over then I would recommend also getting the DLC which is extremely low when on sale. The developers really care for the community they've created and are doing everything they can to make it better, which I really support.

Keep up the good work.
