This is a perfectly fine game to play if you like cool robots shooting each other. Knowledge of the Gundam animes is not required, in fact it's probably a hindrance here. Ranked mode flat out doesn't work (I never find any matches), but that's ok because it's a pretty casual game.

Play it if you just want to chill, don't try to actually be good at it. Nobody is going to be playing this at any kind of higher tier. It purely exists try and sell you premium game currency and/or model kits.

Absolutely recommend, but only if you have a suitable light gun device for your computer. Playing with a controller or mouse just isn't the same.

Though this is a made-from-scratch remake of the original Arcade game it's not exactly the same. Besides the art style and music being different there are also differences in the precise timings and damage/health values of the enemies that don't quite match the original. That being said, the important things like enemy placement, paths etc are mostly adhered to, and playing it still feels quite similar to the original. There's also a couple of new features and a scoring system to encourage replayability.

If you want to experience the original game with fancy graphics then this is fine. There are mods available to bring back the original music and sounds if you want to be a bit more faithful, but the new music is fairly good too.

VR Chat is what I would call a 'cheap and dirty' way of experiencing VR. There are an endless amount of free VR games, experiences and ooh so pretty things to look at and you can spend an eternity checking out lots of cool things in VR. All the games are pretty janky and feel like bootleg versions of actual games you can buy but shoehorned in to work with the VR Chat engine. Why pay for Beat Saber when you can play a version that runs way worse and has the added benefit of being able to have friends or random strangers get in the way??

You can also use VR Chat to... chat and socialise... I guess... but what kind of degenerate loser does that?

There's a part where you play as River Song and have to kiss all the enemies to proceed.

The only thing in this game that's "faster than light" is how quickly everything goes to hell when the RNG gods decide they hate you.

If you want a game where Quinton Flynn tries to sound like Batman or something the entire game BOY ARE YOU IN FOR A TREAT

House of the Dead: Overkill is one of the best Wii games and now it's EVEN BETTER

Really cool story, setting and art direction, but at times felt like I spent more time walking around looking at things or listening to people rather than shooting dudes. Probably should've been an adventure game rather than a shooter??? Still enjoyable though, Elizabeth is pretty kawaii.
