A massive combined-arms open war sandbox, where you play a small part in a dynamic conflict. Each area of the map is densely populated with dozens of NPC squads defending or attacking objectives, along with civilians, and an abundance of wildlife. There are dozens of unexplained systems and stats that may or may not do anything.
It's essentially a dream game.
It's also jank. Very jank.

A classic brought back. Good as it ever was. Workshop support would be amazing.

A rich open world, dripping with style, and packed full of strange characters to get into gunfights with. Seems like there's something new around every corner. Worth the somewhat steep price of admission to get more of Consumer Soft's unique vision.

A simple, no-frills extraction shooter that nails the fundamentals. Satisfyingly delivers the entire "Tarkov" progression curve of going from confused and scared, to decked out and aggressive in a handful of hours without feeling rushed. Pretty much the best thing you can buy with 5 bucks.

Fantastic little tactical shooter with minor management mechanics. Eat burritos, kick down doors, and forcibly hire the opposing faction's workers to build your megaship.
Reminds me of a mix between SWAT 3 and the old X-Wing v Tie Fighter games.

Countless weapons, maps, and hats all packaged in a brutalist concrete nightmare of quake.
Great movement. Unique combat. Totally free.

AWOL reminds me of those mid-budget PS2 era shooters. The ones that were dipping their toes into "tactical" without fully committing, but still fun nonetheless. Definitely worth a play through if you look back fondly on things like Black, XIII, or Cold Winter.
Gunplay is snappy, visuals are nice (aside from the player character's postal 2 goatee), levels are well designed and somewhat open. The biggest issue by far is the AI, both friendly and hostile. If the claims on the store page were remotely true at some point, i'd say something went severely wrong with the release build.

This is what you're looking for. Its Battlefield with expanded mechanics and the destruction system they abandoned. Its a faster Squad that actually feels good to play.
As you would imagine, with a 3 man team there are some clear issues. Progression, balance, and servers definitely need work. If you have wasted any money on AAA shooters in the past few years, you owe it to yourself to skip a doordash order and pick this up.

One of the most detailed scifi worlds the medium has to offer. Dystopian in a way that most cyberpunk fails to be. The meat of the game is exploration so if you're exclusively interested in combat you'll be disappointed.

ADACA's open world pulls from the same source material as stalker, so the comparisons are obvious. You have multiple factions, a varied arsenal, artifacts, anomalies, open world areas connected together by loading zones, everything you want is there and its very good.
But ADACA isnt afraid to move away from open world firefights and towards an experience closer to Roadside Picnic than stalker ever was. There's an ingame note taking system for all of questions and answers you need to keep track of. You have a map, but it doesnt show your exact position or the many hidden areas. Careful observation of the environment always leads to a rewarding discovery. You'll spend a lot of time exploring cosmic horrors, looking for clues, and piecing together puzzles.
Then, when you've had enough of playing supernatural scientist, you can put down the notepad and go back shopping and fighting. Until, inevitably, you stumble across the trail of another mystery.
