It slaps.

The gameplay is satisfying and offers a large amount of freedom and fun, and the real-time battles with the ATB mix are great. It rewards exploiting enemies' weaknesses well, but you can still beeline some stuff if you just want to bonk-bonk your way through. Synergy attacks fix the issue from the Remake episode, as switching characters is now much more rewarding.

We can finally bury the old "They don't do minigames in RPGs anymore" complaint, as this game is full to the brim with them. On top of that, the whole thing is really pretty, with great character designs, cinematics, voice-overs, FXs, locations, and general aesthetics. The post-game content is also very generous.
The story is good, though I imagine the new take from the remake might not be to everyone's taste.

Not much else to say—it's a very solid game and quite possibly one of the best J-RPGs in recent years.

On the downside, the game can get tiresome if you can't resist the urge to complete every checklist and little gauge. There's a lot of content, and it might get repetitive for some.

It's good and worth a playthrough; I enjoyed it.

Overall, the game starts very strong with good combat and has an interesting "mix and match" spell system. The story is very engaging, with some gorgeous presentation and voice acting.
It picks up even further toward the middle when you gain even more abilities and trinkets. The story culminates at that point as well.
For the last third (Maybe half?) of the progression... it goes on a serious nosedive. Not exactly sure why, but the game clearly overstays it's welcome. The story also undergo a weird shift that wasn't welcome to me.

It is still a good game, and a good Final Fantasy at that.
It's worth your attention shall you seek a story-based action-RPG.

Good:
- Tight and fun gameplay and battles The Diablo-3-esque skill system works well. Looking for your perfect rotation is engaging, and testing new spells is always exciting.
- Very pretty with great voice acting and presentation. Some battles and sequences are amazing.

Mid:
- Visibility in battle can get really bad.
- Frankly, the game isn't far for being an absolute banger, but it's like they couldn't pick between going full action or full RPG. As such, it's like either side of the game isn't able to live to its full potential and is coexisting in a weird way. The equipement, for example, is way too linear. A shame.

Bad:
- Bad performances. But in today's landscape, having 'buttery silky smooth' 43 FPS with framegen on is the standard, so let's just enjoy our TAA and blurry-looking post-effects, shall we.
- The side quests are both too numerous and too boring; they should have slashed their amount by at least a third.
- Second half of the game is much less enjoyable.

Brutal, fast, mecha action with cool customization favoring experimentation, coupled with some nice storyline and general presentation make the game great on its own.
But the energy-born qt GF talking softly in your head about how you should commit anti-corporation warcrimes makes it extra sophisticated.

An excellent remake that hold up to the original by modernizing and adding new mechanics.
Solid shooting and gameplay overall. On hard mode, using of your mobility and environement is important.
A few hiccups there and there, like one or two annoying backtracking, and some sections weren't as well designed as others, but nothing major.

A great remake of a great game, that is very much worth your attention.
Kind of eerie how this was ahead of its time.

An excellent, fun, polished, electronic entertainement software. In anno domini 2000 + 23.
It's like eating a good cheeseburger : It's not though-provoking, but holly molly, it's GOOD.
Almost eerie. Something's about to happen.

Great first person platformer that act as a massive adrenaline rush. You basically sacrifice guns to gain some movement options.
Game make you feel like you are really good at what you do, and it is very pleasant to aim for the Ace score everytime, especially when the game offers a bit of help.
Music slaps.

Story is a dumpster fire but you should read it, if only by pure mobid curiosity.

Kinda have a love-hate relationship with this one, but in the end of the day I still recommend it.

- Unique gameplay, you don't get to play a space salvager everyday.
- Sleek aesthetics, akin of Homeworld series.
- Excellent music that puts you in the perfect mood.
- Good progression, and interesting mechanics.
- Overall, the game is pleasant to play and sending these big chunks of metal to the recycler is relaxing.
- Some parts requires some extra care, so the gameplay can alternate nicely from "comfy" to "tense" moments.

Now for the bad. The game is scattered with minors, but regular annoyances :
- The decompression system barely works. Sometimes you have to open-up a compressed zone without any means to decompress it, crossing your fingers hoping that nothing explode.
- Non-skippable story segments. Added to that the writing and the story is kinda bad.
- You can die for what seems no reason at all. Purging the fuel in a javelin truster is a gamble.
- The cutter can freely cut through some type of armor and panels. Except it doesn't always cut all the way through and will ignore that little metal beam you barely see, requiring you to hack mindlessly with your cutter.
- The game has a principe of a "15 minutes shift", meaning that every 15min, the game will stop and get you back to your dorm and display a breakdown of your spendings and earnings. This is bothersome after a while, and I would rather have a rate that is minute-based and let met dismantle a ship in one go If I want to.

These issues can be fixed for some by some updates, so maybe when you read these lines, some of those issues are already fixed. Or not.

You are a god that cleanse evil and help humans to prosper in order to kill the big bad guy, originally a SNES game.
There's side-scrolling action phases, where you cut demons and stuff.
Then you have a lite-sim-city phase where you protects your believers while your guide them.

Nice :
- Graphics are not too bad if you don't dislike the "fake 3D" style.
- Actions phases are as solid as the original, and spells were rebalanced.
- The building phase is comfy even if still a bit shallow.
- Magnificient character art.
- Remastered musics are pretty good.
- Added some story fluff and some backgrounds to the new characters.
- There's some new end-game content.

Very based :
You must force the humans to upgrade their old homes by smiting the ever-living-hell out of them.

Bad :
- They added a tower-defense like phase during the building parts. And honestly it barely works. I see what they tried to do with it but it's just mediocre and quite the pushover after the 3rd world, mechanics makes barely sense.

I loved the original, and I enjoyed this one quite a bit.
