my only complaint is that sometimes you just lose track of your own cursor due to how chaotic the game can be and the only acessibility option seems to be making the screen darker , other than it's great

The new Poker Mode is pretty fun!

This game is so unoptimized for keyboard play it's insane. I hope the developers improve the controls in keyboard because as it is now, the game feels slippery and hard to control.

I don't wanna be too harsh on this game but there is this major issue regarding your character's economy that just doesn't make sense considering this is a simulation game.

The major issue is how the only the top of the top can make a living off of playing chess. If you pick a low Elo career start, you run out of money after 2 or 3 tournaments and then you can't pay for any travel expenses or lessons and as a result you play less chess and your character actually becomes a depressed hardstuck 800 elo player and loses motivation to play chess. It's actually hilarious how it starts spiraling down as the days go by.

I think it's ridiculous how you can't assign your character to get a job to make money on the empty days to fund your travels and career yourself. All you can do if you have no money is wait in perpetual unemployment until your next free invite tournament beguins but by then your character's motivation to play gets slowly depleted because you are not playing chess.

And even if you do increase your elo in the tournaments and reach, let's say 1200, you will still lose to the 2000 AI's every single tournament and you get no money anyways, so you can't enter more chess tournaments perpetuating the depression your character faces.

Also what i think it's missing in the off days is the ability to enroll on chess clubs where you play friendly matches with other people or play online matches at home with other people your level to gain more skill points to improve your character more quickly.

The game acts like all you can to progress yourself is do puzzles until the next tournament, as if online play or places to pratice non-tournament over-the board matches don't exist.

TL:DR: The game needs more ways to develop your character in your offdays if you do a low ELO start.

I don't get how people can judge a game after playing it for 30 to 60 minutes.

People new to the game are saying that it is entirely luck based but you eventually realize that what wins runs is tech cards and cards that break the rules of Blackjack in your favor. Just like every other roguelite deckbuilder in the universe, your basic deck is weak and it's your job to morph it into something OP.

There are cards that auto win the rolls, there are cards that manipulate hands into winning positions by forcing your opponent to bust after standing on a good number, there are cards that manipulate your deck to recycle these broken cards and if your opponent plays a card that screws up your strategy there are cards that allows you to remove those from play.

It's like complaining that in Slay the Spire, your strikes and defends are weak. Of course they are.
