Uno might be one of the most beloved card games in the world, but the digital version feels like an insult to fans. What should have been a fun and relaxing way to play with friends has been utterly ruined by terrible design choices, a lack of accessibility, and an infuriating disregard for fair play.
Network Requirements That Gatekeep the Fun

One of the most glaring issues is the game's draconian network requirements. If your connection doesn’t meet their arbitrary standards, you can forget about hosting a lobby. This alienates players who don't have the "perfect" internet and forces them to depend on others to host. It’s absurd that in a casual game like Uno, hosting a game with friends becomes a privilege rather than a basic feature.
Broken and Ugly UI

The user interface is an absolute disaster. It feels like it was designed in a rush and left half-finished. The fake scrollbars are particularly egregious—giving the illusion of functionality while doing nothing at all. Navigating menus is a chore, with inconsistent layouts, sluggish performance, and an overall unpolished aesthetic. The visuals, far from being vibrant and engaging, are dull and outdated, which is baffling for such a simple game.
Cheaters Reign Supreme

Perhaps the worst offender is the leaderboard system, which is completely overrun by cheaters. Climbing the rankings feels pointless when it’s clear the system does nothing to combat or even acknowledge cheating. Legitimate players are effectively locked out of meaningful competition, and it sours the entire experience for anyone hoping for a fair game.
A Missed Opportunity

Uno has so much potential, but this digital adaptation falls flat in almost every way. Between the alienating technical requirements, the clunky UI, and the rampant cheating, it’s hard to recommend this game to anyone. Uno deserves better, and so do its players. Until these fundamental issues are addressed, this version of Uno is a hard pass.
