Fun classic

8.5/10 - very chill and relaxing game with beautiful pixel art!

At its core - the game is fun, but I'd recommend to wait a 1-3 years to see if this game ever comes to what it should have been. Battle pass on the day one, but no in-game chat - what a "great" idea!

Whole situation with Killing Floor 3 is just pathetic and disappointing...

Played this game for the first time in 2025. Turned out to be one of the best ones I've laid my hands on. Story is interesting and game mechanics are fun. You are able to approach levels in different ways and the game reacts to your choices. Shocking that all of this was created in the year 2000, I am really impressed!

I liked DOOM Eternal much more. This one, to be frank, is just alright...
The combat gameplay feels simplified from other entries. It is generally much easier and slower.

I am having fun with the game, it is still DOOM, but I definitely wouldn't say I am having a blast.

I remember playing Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver on SEGA Dreamcast in 2002, loved the game back in the day.
Incredibly happy to be able to revisit these memories! Especially when camera controls are much better now xD

STRAFTAT has truly managed to take me back in time. The UI has notes of old SEGA Dreamcast style, which was my favorite console growing up. The music carries the late 90's vibe with masterfully crafted liquid DNB tracks, that were often seen in games back in the day. There are movement mechanics like crouch-sliding and wall jumping, which is cool. You can even lean out of cover! I always thought that duels is what 90's shooters were all about and STRAFTAT finds lots of different ways to make this game mode fun, with a huge potential for improvement in future!

The game itself is a little clunky, some weapons' accuracy is weird and makes it nearly impossible to hit an enemy without using aiming (RMB). Default controls options are not ideal and I would recommend to readjust them according to your gut. Default sensitivity is also atrociously high.

STRAFTAT is not your next 1000h game, but it is indeed very fun to play a few matches once in a while, especially with a friend. Highly recommend!
