This game truly has a fantastic array of items, characters, settings and other elements surrounding the most important thing in any video game, the gameplay. Unfortuantely DS II has a much clunkier, slower, and more frustrating way of allowing the player to interact with the world and overcome the obstacles. With the obstacles being another of this game's glaring problems. While the other 2 titles each earn their reputation for being difficult in a fair and motivational way, this game seems to actually go out of it's way to make it difficult for the sake of being difficult. Making hitboxes extraordinarilly large or having the route back to bosses be too long and arduous to even bother attempting to finish the fight as it would just take too much time, this is a huge problem as one of the factors that makes the dark souls franchise so fun is dying but learning from the boss' moves and patterns to finally overcome that challenge. However comparisons from the other 2 aside, this game truly does offer a huge amount of content and an engrossing adventure with many memorable experiences. Still recommended to fans of the series.
