Game is alright but could 1. be much longer and 2. use some QoL improvements. It'd be really nice to have tab-complete, I was really surprised it wasn't a thing considering the actual gameplay is within a terminal.

The story is compelling and gives you enough crumbs of context to intrigue you but without actually explaining anything. I really wish the game was longer, it's a genuine shame that this is only ~30 minutes.

I still recommend it as long as you're okay with knowing the game is going to be very short.

split fiction? more like peak fiction

honestly a goated game; if you're tired of 'AAA slop' and want a game that feels like it was made with actual passion, this is for you. some really neat puzzles and interactions in this, and some of the things they pull off are incredibly impressive on the technical side of things. I've never played any of the previous games by this studio, but I get the hype now.

they have a character in their 'competitive game' that can kill you without ever leaving invisibility, don't even bother installing

similar premise to DDLC, but in 3D
it's peak

honestly a big fan of the included photo mode, there's some neat easter eggs that you can come across by using it at the right time

This is an exceptional remake, Bloober absolutely knocked it out of the park with this. There were 2 main things I had gripes with on the original, the combat was boring and the acting was just not good. This remake improves on these two things exponentially.

Combat actually takes thought now instead of 'see enemy, aim gun, spam button to shoot until they drop, stomp'. Well-timed dodges are your saving grace, but it's not to the level of the enemies throwing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ combos with 30 attacks like it's Dark Souls. Enemies also seem to learn from how you fight, so you're encouraged to mix things up which I like. The boss fights are also significantly better, overall the combat is just a massive step up from the original.

Another thing that's a massive step up from the original, the acting. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the acting in the original was bad. It's been improved in every single way, the line delivery, the mocap, everything. The story feels so much more impactful when the characters actually feel believable.

I only really have 2 issues with this remake: the performance and the mouse input. The performance is just not good. I have a 5800x3d, a 4070, and 48GB of RAM and dropping to 40-60 FPS was not uncommon. It's definitely more difficult to stay immersed when I go from ~100 FPS to suddenly being at 50 FPS during a boss fight. Hoping this gets improved with updates though. The mouse input also feels.. not great. It feels like it's just emulating a joystick, and can sometimes make hitting shots on up-close enemies a lot harder than it should be. Not a massive issue, but still something i'd like to see fixed.

Overall if you enjoyed the original or want to get into Silent Hill 2 in general, just play this version. I genuinely believe it's an improvement over the original in pretty much every single way, the only reason I would recommend playing the original is so you can see the changes they did in the remake.

it's just peak.

A very emotional game and well worth the $10. Can't go into a lot of detail without spoiling but the game does a lot of clever things and is great at making you care about the world. Just play the thing.

game is way too exhausting to play for more than 10-15 minutes at a time, and the necessary poses to do moves feel extremely strict so it results in a lot of whiffed moves. if you can handle perfecting the really strict poses then go for it, but combined with how intensive the game actually is it's hard to keep yourself playing long enough to actually improve

you can griddy pretty well though so i give it points for that

genuinely game of the year.

i played all 3 of the betas and i loved every single one of them, and the game has only gotten better and better with time. this is without a doubt one of the best competitive shooters i've played in a long time, playing this game genuinely gives me that feeling of childlike wonder again.

the TTK is perfect, there's so much variety in playstyles, it's the perfect game for squading up with friends and just trying your hearts out. shoutout to embark for making such an insanely fun game and I cannot wait until this game starts developing a full blown esports scene.

do yourself a favor and just play this masterpiece of a game

A game about two deeply disturbed, toxic, mentally twisted, and codependent siblings that is not afraid to delve into disturbing themes and make the player insanely uncomfortable with the things taking place; yet at the same time you can find yourself struggling to blame them for their actions.

can't wait for chapter 3.

in all seriousness this is a great game. the writing is great, the artstyle is great, it's got some good humor, and it annihilates any feeling of 'i can fix her', cause you ain't fixing ♥♥♥♥. if you took a shot everytime you think to yourself 'wow, this is really messed up' you'd probably die within an hour or so.
