This game was built for our gaming community, in all survival games we love the initial grind. Where you start with nothing and build up, when we get to later stages and things become easy we loose interest, not in Icarus. You start again every mission. But sometimes with extra goodies that you can research and then craft at the Hub before launching down to the planet. But nothing that will take away the initial grind.
The Tech tree and Talents you accrue during game play stay with your character but after playing for a while and the Talents cap of Level 40, you soon realise you need to specialise in a certain area for that character to be useful, which leads us to the fact this game is very team based. There are solo Talents but i would say that is better for a separate character.
It took a little while for me to find the best graphics settings to make the game look good and to run smoothly but even on my lower end machine the game looks great.
If like me you enjoy the starting grind of survival games you will love this game for its missions, if you like to play long term don't worry, there is a sandbox mode in the form of outposts that will allow you to build to your hearts content.
With the fact certain items are still showing as coming soon on the tech tree, I can see there is still a lot more to come. Keep up the great work Dev's.

I dont normally write reviews but thought I'd give it a try. If you go into this game expecting a fully working game your going to be sorely disappointed. The clue is in the name, Early Access. I am now just short of 100 hours played and I love it. Mining, Trading, Ship Design and Building. Sure I've lost ships due to bugs and de spawning. The new Easy Build mode was only added on early access release so I understand this will take time to iron out all the kinks. Its great when it works, Im still adding to the ship i built in Easy Build mode even though i can no longer attach the modules. Im doing it one girder at a time. Be patient and understanding and you'll have a great time. I look forward to the continued development of this game to see where it goes. But understand this, before you buy this game or any other in the Early Access category, please read what Early Access is before you slate a developing game for having issues.

This is FREE?? I cant believe a game with this level of graphics is free, the game play is outstanding and I have spent hours of fun flying all the planes I loved from WWII. With the level of development that has went into this game and is still on going, I would recomend this to anyone
