First of all, it’s important to be clear: you are buying an unfinished game. Content such as story acts, classes, mechanics, and overall optimization is still missing — and the developers communicate this openly.

That said, as a fan of Diablo and other ARPGs, I have to say that Path of Exile 2 is the true killer of the genre. Even in Early Access, the current state of the game already offers more depth and shows far more respect for my time than many fully released titles. It does everything right that the genre has been missing — or that has been taken away from it.

Leveling and farming items feel incredibly rewarding, more so than in any other ARPG I’ve played. Diablo 4 completely killed my interest in the genre, and Path of Exile 2 gave it back to me.

There are still a few points of criticism worth mentioning:

The game unfortunately suffers from network spikes. Attempts to fix this using VPNs or similar methods didn’t help. For moderately challenging content this is still acceptable, but at higher difficulty levels it can become frustrating. Since multiple reviews and even friends have reported the same issue, I assume this is a known problem and hope it will be resolved before the full release.

In certain areas, and especially during heavy visual effects from the own character, the game clearly feels unoptimized. This is another issue I expect to be addressed over time.

For now, that’s everything I can think of.

First released on the Epic Games Store, then bought on PS5, and now picked up on Steam for just 2€ with all DLCs included.

At launch, this game was massively overhated and quickly labeled as a cheap PAYDAY clone. But after 19 updates and numerous events that allowed players to obtain DLCs for free, I can confidently say that Crime Boss has grown into a genuinely good game.

The developers are still actively supporting it, regularly adding new missions and making sure that the content works properly across all modes. That kind of long-term commitment is something many bigger studios fail to deliver.

While it may not have had the strongest first impression, Crime Boss proves that consistent updates and actual effort can turn a rough launch into a solid experience.
