                                                       I wake up, but I don’t feel awake.
                                                       The world moves around me, but I am still.
                                                       Time slips through my fingers, day after day,
                                                       and I do nothing but exist.

                                                       Sometimes I cry, and I don’t know why.
                                                       Sometimes I burn with anger,
                                                       fury so raw it chokes me,
                                                       yet I have no name for it, no reason, no cause.
                                                       It just is.
                                                       Like the sadness.
                                                       Like the darkness that wraps around me,
                                                       tight, suffocating, relentless.

                                                       I do things to keep my mind from breaking,
                                                       to push away the weight pressing on my chest.
                                                       I distract myself, I run, I escape
                                                       but it always finds me again.

                                                       I don’t know if there’s a way out.
                                                       I don’t know if the light I long for is real
                                                       or just a cruel trick my mind plays.
                                                       But I am here.
                                                       Still here.
                                                       And maybe, somehow, that means something.
