Your best hope at actual democracy in 2025

(review after ~380 hours on the game pass version, bought again here on sale to play on the deck)

Hey, this game is actually good now!

You can pretty much just play this as a single player Fallout experience now, there's probably 40+ hours of questing and whatnot to do. However, if you decide to tackle quests with your friends, only the person who starts the quest will get credit, which is completely dumb.

The map is huge and there's tons to explore and loot, logs to read, terminals to hack, side quests, etc. If you like wandering off the path, you'll dig it.

Combat is fast paced and there are plenty of viable build options, you can do stealth, VATS, power armor, heavy guns, melee, all that.

Plenty of events to do where you show up and kill stuff with other people and collect your loots. Even a few boss fights, but the mechanics are non-existent besides "dump 1000 rounds into this slightly bigger creature" so don't go expecting WoW level raids or anything.

Base building is fun, if a bit janky in true Bethesda style. Setting up a vendor and playing the buy/sell game is pretty addicting in and of itself.

If you plan on playing for the long haul, I'd suggest getting the subscription, otherwise loot/weight management is a nightmare.

Some good ideas here, the potion puzzle mechanic is actually really fun. However most of the systems are fairly shallow, and it turns into a monotonous grind after a few hours. Hope you like hitting trees and rocks, because unfortunately that's most of the game.

Regardless of what the trailer lead you to believe, this plays more like a base defense MOBA than a Diablo.

- Fresh game every time
- No persistent leveling (outside of a currently free cosmetic battle pass system, which I'm sure will be monetized)
- No random loot, only crafting supplies
- There is no "building" in the traditional sense, you just dump resources into already placed structures

Controls are WASD and click to attack, so totally not Diablo. Plays much better and seems designed around a controller.

There is also some latency and rubber banding issues, along with long animations, which makes dodge rolling away troublesome. Combat does not feel impactful at all.

This might be good in a few patches, it currently feels like an early access title and I feel like the marketing is misleading.
