This VISUAL NOVEL have an issues with Motor Function Accessibility!

Like in the first chapter there's a minigame where you need to click fast on disappearing words all over the screen. My hand trauma was never an issue in SOULSLIKES but this game is just won't let me get more than 50%. It requires like 5 clicks and about 10cm of zigzag mouse movement per second. Impossible on controller or touchpad even for people with healthy hands. I only managed by using both touchpad and mouse simultaneously (so I can move and click more)... and I won't be playing it anymore, not with how many tears I have shred.

Who the heck adds a DPS check in a VISUAL NOVEL? The devs are certainly sadistic.

Overall I really enjoyed it, but it's far from perfect.

Enemy AI is almost always input reading, you need to learn to be reactive and not proactive. Game requires you tu be aggressive, but enemies (especialy some "rage quit worthy" bosses) will almost perfectly read what you're about to do, so you need to either parry, or defend and deal some hits while the enemies animation is ending. Sometimes it's in the "unfair" territory where boss will cancel action to react to your input, or will have extremely fast moveset and dodge a few football fields away. Although there was only one boss that I would call intentionally unfair, but you fight them twice, and both fights made me wanna rage quit.
But well, all bosses become easy once you learn their moveset. Still doesn't make them hard but fair like bosses in fromsoft games. You will lose because of the advantages enemy ai have, not because of your skill. It's doubly so when every other boss is easily defeatable on the first try

Performance is awful. The game is severely unoptimized and requires beefy cpu and a lot of ram and vram. On the good side there's no loading after death and when teleporting on the same level. On the bad side it stutters a lot on some levels and between levels transition takes minutes. probably wouldn't be an issue if you have last gen cpu and 24gb+ combined ram and vram - steam deck can run the game at 1080p 45fps medium-high, but because of insufficient ram stutters to under 30fps, sometimes under 20fps.

The rest is perfect, have no complains. although backstab aside from stealth would be a nice addition.

Oh, also it's an amazing FASSION SOULS!

P.S. 1080p 45fps medium-high is the best case scenario in the beginning of the game. I played it locked to25fps 800p low + medium texture (low ones are awful and doesn't improve the cpu/ram situation at all) and the game regularly dropped under 20fps, it was especially bad in some big areas like the church, like it couldn't even hold 20fps and dropped under 15 during combat. Definitely not recommended to play it on weak hardware like steam deck, I think rog ally x (with 24gb ram) is the minimum you need to play the game comfortably.

Amazing, it's a perfect adaptation of HP Lovecraft! which is why I hate it. Extremely tedious and a bit boring. 80% tell, 20% show - "tell, don't show".

It was great, but I hope the dev will allow themselves more creative freedom in the future games

TLDR: CHEAP DARK SOULS KNOKOFF, stay away even if you played literally every other souls-like for ng99+!

the game is f*cking broken:
1) the game suddenly started to claim that I don't own the full game 30h in (after an update or something). Reinstalled and it helped BUT IT F*CKING DELETED MY SAVE DATA IN CLOUD. literally overwritten it with 0 bytes. fortunately I had a backup (thanks a lot to the dev of steamback on decky plugins).
2) I finished the final boss 10 times but I'm just getting stuck on the area. ending cutscenes and credits don't trigger. I tried exiting to menu (and then having to fight the boss from scratch), finishin the fight ultra fast, tsking a lot of time so boss stops talking during both phases, using different weapons or buffs. Hell my last run I used nothing at all, not even the estus flask! The game just doesn't register it!
The problems seem to be common, since I found people complaining about them on reddit and forums.

Aside from bugs the game is like an inferior version of darksouls 2 - only with no plot, worldbuilding or level design (everything is just stolen from fromsoftware without considering "why?" "when?" "what for".

oh and bugs... just like darksouls 2 the hit boxes are all over the space, only enemies are teleporting way more often. You're fighting taurus and carpa demons all the time. the game design is intentionally sadistic (souls fans are masohists, right? at least that's what devs thought), like mimics are kinda hard to figure out, but when you do devs start to place enemies where you will peak into axios to get rid of the mimics. then the fall traps - you can't just dodge out of the way or sidestep - hitboxes on that kick is huge. And there're lots of traps like that. a lot of scripted stuff where your enemies aren't the mobs - it's script writers...

also remember complains from the release about weak mobs gangbanging you? it's still there, just in the late game. while you're fighting scripted enemies some random ones will spawn and box you in, stun locking you, blocking roll, and letting the real enemy oneshot you. oh, and roll... during my last fught I realized how bad it is, like I had to release lock to be able to roll away from enemy attack - as otherwise it wouldn't work. and aiming it manually is just catastrophic. oh and there ware situations where trying to lock onto enemy it will twist your head backward to some random faraway mob.

Overall I really like first few hours of the game. the ammunition system for bows and throwables is fantastic.

but in the end, i will never replay this game and won't recommend you to even try. It's a cheap knockoff of ds2, and infirior copy of medium.
honestly just play lies of p or elden ring. don't waste your time on this!

p.s. also it's not the dev of original LoF, the original dev is miles better nowadays. check surge series. that's quite fun.

Previous games were stable - this one crashed FIVE TIMES during my play-through.

THE DEV EVEN PREPARED MC replic when she is FALLING OFF THE MAP!

VOICE MESSAGES! We all hate them in real life, WHY THE ♥♥♥♥ WOULD YOU ADD THEM IN VIDEO GAMES?!? And no transcript, another sin for accessibility.

It's so comical I HAVE to highlight it. At first I thought the dev has finally added some real settings to their game, BUT it's still ♥♥♥♥ and doesn't even work half the time. For example those are the resolution I have available, and as you can see 1920x1080 is not included on a 16:9 monitor that advertises that resolution: 640x480, 800x600, 960x540, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1440x900, 1600x1200, 1680x1050, ___1920x800___, ___2560x1080___, 2880x1620, 3200x1800, 3840x1600.... Like those aren't standard resolutions and most of them aren't advertised by my display, moreover most of them are narrow screen (16:10) or widescreen, and the only 16:9 is barely HD...

So my review remains the same as for previous games:

I really regret that I bought the bundle relying on positive reviews and recommendations. The dev hasn't changed a bit since the last part, so I will just copypaste my review here. I would only add that the writing this time is even cringier.
Still seems like dev's first game, they did NOT grow at all.
1) no basic settings, not even resolution or window mode (in this part they added it but it barely works). Also if you change settings they won't be saved when you open the game next time. They added accessibility settings for gross sounds like food or toilet, but you STILL HEAR THE FOOD. Also still no such simple accessibility settings as tape noise filter, which not only tanks performance but also MAKES ME FCUKING NAUSEOUS!
2) no in-game menu.
3) no level design, just asset store demos put together
4) no plot or even competent writing, just a reddit post level of plot and literacy
5) still need to click on reply to progress dialogue, even if there's only one option or even simply silence.
6) performance is still awful at no benefit to visual quality, slightly hidden by tape filter which I suspect might be the reason behind heat

Honestly, just get yourself some Chilla's art experience, you can at least observe the growth of the dev there...

surprisingly well made and feature rich for such a short and bittersweet game.
