Early Access Review
Good builder survival game. Eating gives buffs, it's not a requirement, and you can disable item durability and corpse runs. This turns it into a very chill survival / building game. Using NPCs instead of tables is a bit weird, especially when the NPCs walk around the house and go to sleep. That's a minor annoyance though.

Incredibly tedious thus far.

This is surprisingly relaxing, at least once you get passed the "I haven't a clue what I'm doing" beginning. But I think that it's executed well enough. You don't, in fact, have a clue what you're doing, and that's a part of the intended design. After that it becomes (thus far) your typical resource gathering survival game with impossible physics of building things in the air. I'm having a bit of fun with that, casadastraphobia not withstanding.

edit September 7th 2025 - Obsolete do not buy. The dev is selling the quality of life update as a new game for at least $40. If you can believe it, rather than patching this one. Yeah you read that right.

I don't hate it, but I don't exactly like it. Being that Steam requires a hard Yes or No I'm clicking No, but if you can get this on sale then it's probably worth it. V Rising seems to have a lot of repetitive grinding that's necessary to advance, and I feel like I'm checking off items from a to-do list more so than I'm playing a game. V Rising has a fantastic idea that's wrapped in a package that really isn't for me. Additionally, you can not pause the game when playing solo so if you have kids, pets, or have any other real life things to think about then it's kinda pointless to start playing this.

Well, *waves hands in game's general direction*, most of that.

Does what it says it does. Not much to say about it, really. It works, and that's pretty great.

Super chill resource collection & base building game with a god awful UI and inventory both, but thankfully drops the need to eat & drink. Server errors still happen (discovery service never connects even to this day, I have about 6 year old data it's never submitted), multiplayer is apparently a bit flaky, ships fly like they're on a bungee cord so flying sucks tbh but.. hey.. somehow, it's still pretty chill and it receives a lot of updates. Good in doses, and a good palate cleanser from the other space games.

It's more of a "simulation lite" unless you have the expensive gear (pedals, wheels, sticks, et al) to make it more. The UI is also very much what you'd expect on the computers of a trucking business lol. Nonetheless! It's like gathering in an MMO or "space trucking" in a space sim. It's chill. You just get the cargo, sit back, and drive. Particularly for the sale price, how can I dislike it? I do, however, wish that we had far more customization options. Particularly for the interiors, but perhaps this is the result of staying more genuine to what's actually available in these trucks. And hey, that's what mods are for.
