Lovely little game. Very well-written, powerful portrayal of emotion through animation and also a nice soundtrack. Puzzles are simple and fun, collectibles are difficult to miss. Loved it, wish I could wipe my memory of the game and play all over again.

Fun game, light on the puzzle complexity and makes you feel like an unstoppable, always adapting force. Just the perfect gameplay length too.

Absolutely amazing job on bringing the games to PC. Really enjoying the games in their modern avatar. Hope Halo 5 also gets added at some point.

This game never gets old, no matter how many years you've played it for.

Quite a bit of grind but that's because there's just so much content. No paywalls, free expansions for all, and mostly all premium content is accessible through some grind.
Very fun to play.

New players may get confused about how to progress as there is not a lot of instructions given, but the community is very helpful and will gladly walk a newbie through this. Wikis and forum discussions are aplenty, in case someone still gets stuck.

Love the level design. No camping. You can and will be flanked. Every single map.

"Sir, this gun here fires a beam of plasma that will melt literally anything that comes in its way."
"Hmm."
"And this one fires a beam of nanites that will tear apart anything in the vicinity of what it hits."
"Nice."
"And this one creates black holes that suck in everything around it, turn into a singularity and explode."
"Cool."
"So which one will you be using for the rest of your mission?"
"The one that lets me shoot half a building into an alien."

I bought maybe 5 or 6 six games at the same time as installing this game.
Guess which is the only one among them I've installed and played till now.

This game is really that addictive.

Some points about the game:

- Probably the best money earning system I've seen in any game. You have to balance your cargo space among trade items and mission items while having enough space to store equipment looted from pirates you have shot down. Being able to loot said equipment requires you to have enough crew members to board pirate ships. Crew members require salary. You can take loans to buy that big freighter, knowing that the extra cargo space will let you pay off that loan quickly.

- Ships are customizable as hell. Each ship has a specific amount of equipment space, weapon capacity and engine capacity. Equipment for the same role may have their own pros and cons, say low cost, high space taken up, high energy output vs high cost, slightly lower energy output but a fraction of the space required etc. The same ship can be outfitted to be primarily a freighter focused on higher cargo space trading off defensive capabilities or it can be turned into a decked out escort ship that will tear apart any hostile that ventures close. And there are a huge number of unique ships.

- Disabled enemy ships can be boarded and taken over. This is a really great way to bolster your fleet or earn money. Bigger ships are more difficult to capture, requiring more crew members as well as specialized equipment, but you can always steal systems from a disabled ship. However these systems take up cargo space on your ship so you need to measure the value to be gained against the value of cargo you may need to discard to make space. (Note that selling value of equipment will depreciate over time)

- The inertial physics mechanic (your ship needs counter thrust to stop its motion) is really interesting and definitely adds to the planning that goes into equipment choice.

- When you think you have optimized your ship(s) to extract the last drop of juice out of the available outfit space, you discover some new equipment that is even more optimized (but may have a tradeoff). Alien equipment mostly always falls under this category.

- Storyline is interesting. Sometimes what you think are sidequests interlock with the main storyline. Storyline is non-intrusive with the regular free gameplay (at least till now for me).

- Easily modifiable!

I have only one complaint: the developers don't have a donation link anywhere I can see. A free game is never this polished. Devs are always adding some new feature or the other. (Removal of death benefits introduced in the recent update has made the game more interesting) I'd gladly pay a few bucks to encourage the devs to keep going! Thank you for the great game and many hours of fun!
