A unique, truly one-of-a-kind game.
Extremely harsh and unforgiving to the player, but rewarding and capable of delivering some of the strongest emotions you can get in modern PvP shooters. If you go the PvE route, you won’t be disappointed either.

Gunplay is something between tactical and chaotic, but fun for sure
Weapon modification system is deep and have everything you need to create a truly unique guns.
The progression keeps feeding you new weapons, gear and quests.
Exploration is immersive and rewarding: you will always have something new and exciting to explore, see or loot.
The maps and location design are absolutely top-tier.

The tutorial is there just to tick a box and is nowhere near enough.
The text in quests is often insufficient to actually complete them. THE GAME IS NOT SELF-EXPLANATORY OR SELF-SUFFICIENT.
To learn how to play, you basically have to rely on the community or find a friend who can walk you through it.
Game suffers from very serious technical issues of pretty much any kind: from netcode and basic stability to abnormal loading times.
And the saddest part is that the 1.0 release falls well short of the promised feature set.

Even so, you won’t find anything quite like it on the market. It’s a genuinely unique experience, and a must-play for anyone who loves hardcore shooters on PC.

TL;DR
People are complaining about the Ubisoft Launcher and bad performance, but the game feels really good to play; a huge number of essential quality-of-life features genuinely change how it plays.

The Ubisoft Launcher is cringe.
As for performance, I personally haven’t noticed issues – I immediately (before the start of the game) set everything to medium, the game still looks great and feels smooth

The game itself is the same Anno I love, just sprinkled with a couple of new ideas.
The main one is diagonal building. It’s f***ing awesome and it changes the game a lot. It really freshens up the whole concept and gameplay, and it opens up tons of new options for beauty-building.

Setting and its fantasy is awesome!

The research tree feels a bit like a gimmick so far, but the idea is clear and it does let you slightly customize your progression.

Land battles, which for example weren’t in Anno 1800 – I’m still not sure how big of a twist they really are, but I’ll come back to this after I’ve put in more time.

The stamps should came back! It was a great feature and it should find its way back to the Anno 117

Once I’ve got 100 hours in, I’ll be back to update this review!
