If you liked House Flipper, then you will hate this as it does everything wrong.

One of the better "semi good" simulators out there. Gameplay loop is fire once you have the shovel. Oh and you can ride bikes for whatever reason.

While I appreciate the art being all Earthbound-style and the animations being great, that does not make up for the lack in the gameplay department. The world feels empty and hollow. There are a few secrets here and there, but nothing like the rupee caves in Zelda 3, for instance.

I bought this at 60% off and still would not even recommend it to die hard Zelda 3 fans.

As a fan of simple mechanics, I appreciate the devs dumbing down the farming to one tool. HOWEVER, the menu system is really finnicky and unnecessarily complex.

The characters and story are - as per usual - amazing. And this time, they really put a huge focus on romance. And with this roster of bachelors and bachelorettes, you will have no problem finding your s/o! Although I must admit, dating a certain female character just feels.. wrong.

Combat is a little better than in RF5 and is definitely more fun.

The whole game is a giant fetch quest, as others have already mentioned in their reviews.

The bad thing about that is, that it often doesn't even make sense. For instance, in one quest, I have to grab some batteries for someone. I already have some in my inventory. But instead of directly giving that person the wanted items, I still had to do something else to - you guessed it - get the exact same items I already had.

Then, there's the amount of running around you need to do. At some points in the game, the devs decided that it's a good idea to disable fast travel completely, forcing you to use your slow boat for way too long distances.

Yeah, no. It's cute and all, but the gameplay loop is not only boring, it's also infuriating at times.

I bought this at -80% but I still cannot recommend it. It feels clunky and unfinished. And the devs even overlooked the incorrectly set D-key, so you will have to rebind that one or else you won't be able to move to the right lol.

Do you ever play a game and enjoy it but feel like something is missing? But you can't really name it? Yeah that's what I felt like playing this game. Still, it would be unfair to review it negatively; but definitely try the demo before you buy.

Would I recommend this game if you got it in a bundle? Strong YES.

Would I do the same for full price? No.

It has its strength but also too many weaknesses to pay full price. Wait for Fanatical or Humble to include it.

To me, this is the true GOTY 2025. If you like Oblivion or even Skyrim, you will love this. Think of it as their depressed, Lovecraftian little brother.
