the best metal gear solid game

This game is not a copy+paste of DD1. It's very different in many ways, but the combat still has the same great DD1 feel to it, without a majority of the random chance bs that made DD1 feel more frustrating than challenging at times. If you're hoping for it to be a clone of the original, it's simply not. But it still easily sits in my top 5 games of the last decade, alongside the original. There is a little bit of grindiness to the game, but if you enjoy the setting and characters as much as I do, you will love it.

As much as I want to like this game, and as open as I am to new variations on old classics, this is one of the worst resident evil games. Combat feels awful, there's very little variation on the enemy types, the boss fights just feel incredibly clunky, movement in general feels terrible. Like you're constantly walking through knee-deep mud. It's very short, you could probably speedrun this game sub 2 hours with little practice if you really wanted to.

As for the positives, it's a great looking game, the plot is solid, the VHS sequences are tastefully included, the setting is great, and the extra modes are some of the best of any RE game.

Buy it if you like to dive deep into the story of a game.
Don't buy it if you want to enjoy the actual gameplay.

they're working on the servers, relax, they delivered a better game than they even promised which is incredibly rare these days. they've already doubled the player count in a week which is more commitment than most game companies have offered in a year

The original was one of the best games ever made, it's no coincidence that this is also one of the best games ever made. This game would still be worth the price if it was $120.

Halo infinite had the biggest potential of any game of 2021, and it delivered nothing. The gameplay is great, and the fights feel great, but you'll play every map and gamemode there is to offer in one sitting. The campaign is also horribly buggy. Not to mention, terribly balanced. It's either the easiest game you've ever played, or like trying to beat dark souls with a blindfold on while receiving a lobotomy.

I was never one for card games, but this game completely changed that. The gameplay is incredibly fun, and I felt the difficult was perfect. I cannot wait to see more content added, or a sequel.

all the looks of mkx minus the terrible gameplay of it. now that they've got the insane graphics down to a T, they've really honed in on the gameplay. Minus 1 point for no Ermac though :(

It makes me incredibly sad to say that this game has gone downhill significantly over the last 6 years. Year 2 was amazing, and every update has decreased in quality since. There have been countless bug fixes, quality of life changes, and so on, but no amount of QOL changes can revitalize the fun in this game. Everything is repeatedly nerfed again and again, chasing an impossible balance to a game with this many characters and playstyles. There are too many solutions to each problem and the essence of strategic gameplay has been reduced to COD style search and destroy. Do not buy this game, please, you may enjoy the novelty of it at the moment of purchase, but within even just a month of somewhat regular play you'll understand the waste of money you've committed.
