A série The Elder Scrolls é uma das minhas favoritas. Conheci ela pelo Skyrim, acredito que muitos também começaram por ele. Depois disso fui conhecer Morrowind, e depois Oblivion. E que ótima decisão eu fiz. TES Oblivion é um RPG ambientado na província de Cyrodiil, também conhecida como Província Imperial, esta é a província central de Tamriel onde fica a capital do Império. Os acontecimentos se passam antes de Skyrim. Após a morte do Imperador, o mundo enfrenta a ameaça dos daedra marchando para fora dos portais de Oblivion. Cabe ao seu personagem enfrentar esta ameaça.

Farei algumas comparações desse game em relação a Skyrim, já que foi o primeiro da série o qual tive contato e joguei por mais tempo.

Pelo que percebi neste jogo, a trilha sonora é fantástica, assim como os outros jogos da série. Jeremy Soule fez um trabalho impecável. A ambientação é bem mais "colorida" e mais vibrante do que Skyrim, e a trilha sonora ajuda nisso. Claro, existem também os momentos sombrios, como por exemplo os cenários de Oblivion, os daedra e o santuário da Dark Brotherhood.

A jogabilidade é diferente de Skyrim, você pode sentir isso, desde o cortar de uma espada até o atirar de um arco e a conjuração de magias (estas tem um hotkey específico, não fica nos botões de ataque). Um recurso que se perdeu depois e que gostei bastante foi que as armas e armaduras tem durabilidade. Sim, você precisa repará-las e elas vão perdendo a eficiência. O sistema de leveling também é diferente, possuem major e minor skills (habilidades principais e secundárias). Ao subir de nível é possível aumentar pontos em atributos como força, agilidade, inteligência ou sorte.

A main questline é muito boa, e o jogo também possui diversas side quests, com diversas guildas e associações das quais o jogador pode participar. Alguns exemplos são: Thieves Guild, Mages Guild, Fighters Guild e Dark Brotherhood.

Para alguns jogadores mais exigentes os gráficos podem estar ultrapassados, já que o jogo é de 2006. Mas nada que alguns mods não resolvam. Este é outro ponto forte do game, a grande quantidade de mods disponíveis pela comunidade, desde armas e armaduras novas (cosmetics) até novos cenários, mapas e cidades.

Recomendo fortemente o jogo para quem nunca jogou a série The Elder Scrolls ou para quem aprecia um bom RPG.

The Elder Scrolls is one of my favorite game series. I first got into it through Skyrim—I believe many others started with it too. After that, I went on to discover Morrowind, and then Oblivion. And what a great decision that was. TES Oblivion is an RPG set in the province of Cyrodiil, also known as the Imperial Province. It’s the central province of Tamriel, where the capital of the Empire is located. The events of the game take place before Skyrim. After the Emperor’s death, the world faces the threat of the Daedra marching out of the Oblivion gates. It’s up to your character to face this danger.

I’ll make some comparisons with Skyrim, since it was the first game in the series I played and spent the most time on.

From what I’ve seen in this game, the soundtrack is fantastic—just like in the other entries in the series. Jeremy Soule did an outstanding job. The atmosphere is much more colorful and vibrant than Skyrim, and the music contributes greatly to that. Of course, there are also darker moments, like the Oblivion realms, the Daedra, and the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary.

The gameplay is noticeably different from Skyrim. You can feel it from the way a sword swings to how a bow fires or a spell is cast (spells have a dedicated hotkey, and are not tied to the attack buttons). One feature that was later removed—and that I actually really liked—is that weapons and armor have durability. Yes, you need to repair them, and they become less effective over time. The leveling system is also different, with major and minor skills. When you level up, you can increase attributes like Strength, Agility, Intelligence, or Luck.

The main questline is very good, and the game also has plenty of side quests, with various guilds and factions you can join. Some examples include the Thieves Guild, Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, and the Dark Brotherhood.

For some more demanding players, the graphics may feel outdated, since the game is from 2006. But nothing a few mods can’t fix. That’s another strong point of this game—the large number of community-made mods, ranging from new weapons and armor (cosmetics) to entirely new locations, maps, and cities.

I strongly recommend this game to anyone who’s never played The Elder Scrolls series or to anyone who enjoys a solid RPG.
