Disclaimer first: a friend bought me the game within half an hour of launch because of how hyped she was for it. I'm not marking it as received-for-free because she paid for it.

That aside, I do recommend this game if you enjoy the various farm/life/factory-sim games out there; it's a nice take on the overall concept, where the factory work you're doing is to build a rocket, but also to improve the town itself. You can pick up odd jobs, repair work, and just coat the town in your machinery if you want. The resources appear to have finite quantities (outside whatever recycling offers; haven't gotten there yet) but I don't feel too rushed about it - mainly it means you'll be adjusting factory designs over time.

The graphics are a cute callback to older games, the interface is mostly reasonable, and I haven't experienced any crashes or major bugs. There's a dog and multiple robots, and you can build cranes to haul people around if you want.

Early Access Review
I was enjoying this as an occasional game; interesting design, good music, encouragement to come up with novel designs to ensure materials and power keep flowing. I didn't play it often, but when I did it was fun. And then, well, the decision that it has to copy all the other games in a similar genre and have an Evil Faction that comes to harass your stuff.

I just want a game like this, or like survivalcraft games, that doesn't feel compelled to add random invaders for the sake of there being Enemies You Can Shoot. So... I'm sorry, Gamera Games, but the thing that compelled me to write a review was to leave a negative mark for needing to add ~*conflict*~ needlessly, rendering a fun and chill time into something else.

I'm glad for the people who are excited for it! But "yet another tower defense factory game" is a sharp downgrade for me.

At present, I would willingly recommend this game, although I have a couple minor qualms as a streamer; the primary being that I would appreciate it if tabbing out didn't wholly mute the game, or at least if there were an option in the setting to choose to let sound continue playing while tabbed out. Other than that and some default mouse sensitivity that's absolutely through the roof, it's a sweet little game so far!

Simply put: the gameplay is fantastic, but the worldbuilding is what really shines. You can piece together the world's story, between side quests, hidden data logs, and the main quest chains. And in that story, it shows that Guerrilla really put in the effort to think about why things are. So much of what there is in the world gets explained in a way that doesn't feel forced but does feel like the developers wanted a coherent world where they weren't relying on "because it's cool" to justify anything.

There are things I'd personally change, but they're all a "me" thing. 10/10, would recommend this gorgeous game.

I keep poking back into the game every update or two; while there are always a fascinating array of bugs to discover, the game keeps getting better with each (completely free) DLC.

Eventually I'll complete the Survivor/Permadeath achievements!

Very chill, very relaxing, definitely a nice change of pace from most games. It isn't an idle or a clicker, and does require some attention from the player, but there's still an element of waiting for the fry to grow up enough to make out their patterns.

It's easily worth more than what the dev has it priced at.

What other game allows you to inject yourself with a love elixir so that you can fall in love with yourself for an achievement, wear your own severed face as a mask, prowl around post-apocalyptic landscapes that would make Hollywood's producers turn inside-out trying to even imagine, use an axe to chop a missile launcher off an ancient war machine (and then pick up and fire the missile launcher), make friends with sapient plants, talk a newly sapient wall into being your devoted follower, and mind-swap with a goat?
Plus the devs and the core values of the game are solidly left-leaning (actually so, rather than the comedically inept and inaccurate strawman claims some weepy little boys keep vomiting up), the patch notes are often highly amusing, and it offers everything from traditional roguelike permadeath to a fairly chill amble through the salt deserts and flower jungles of Qud.

It has only gotten deeper and more complex over time; a labor of love and joy in the defiance of everything that "should" have happened to it by the laws of the market. A true and glorious case of find your weird and find your people.

With the addition of the integrated co-op play, Degrees of Separation is an excellent game; some of the puzzles are incredibly simple, while others have left my partner and I staring at them feeling like the hominids staring at the monolith in 2001. It's also visually gorgeous, although the narrative occasionally makes it clear that the solution to a puzzle is supposed to involve the other character rather than the way we did it - which is neat, because it means we found a solution they didn't think we would!

It's simple, calming, and relaxing. Except for the rubra. It never gets thirsty and I'm starting to get suspicious of it.

Challenging and loads of fun for anyone who enjoyed the days of Diablo 2. The true spiritual heir of the Diablo series, in much the same way that Torchlight was the inheritor to the whimsical aspects of the Diablo series.
