In it's current state, I don't recommend the game. There are major functions that do not work that leaves me to say this game is still more in early access then full release. In 6 months if the dev's keep going I think we'll have a great, unique game on our hands. In concept I think this is the best DBD game out there. It's just not balanced at all.
    1. Matchmaking:There currently is only two forms of matchmaking. Custom Games, and Quick Play. Quick Play which is the only real way to play will pit you against people of any skill level. So that means whether you've 100hrs or 1hr you could be in the same lobby. This even though they have a 20 game skill check system to place your MMR (match making rating) but the MMR does not work, there are games with people in the 300 MMR matching with 1800 MMR players. As of this review they rleased Ranked play, but there is no function in the game where you can designate to play ranked. You have your MMR, but again, it doesn't match based on equal skill levels.
  • 2. Mechanics: The game actually provides alot of unique mechanics.

Health Pool- Survivors have two health pools, one based on the object you clone (size of object = easier to hit = more HP) and your human health pool. Either of these pools going down to 0 will result in a knock. No complaints this functions well.

Bonks - They have implemented a bonk style skill, where if you hit the killer in the head as a prop the killer will be dazed and stop what it's is doing. This is fun in that it's skill based and a high risk high reward. However what it translates into for skilled players is very easy Bonks. Props can double jump, Bonking as a large object gives more health and a higher hit box to perform the bonk. There is no limit to how many times you can bonk. This is like a camera in other DBD games, except its free and always available. If the killer is carrying someone to the chair? go bonk them, and the survivor is free. The killer cannot attack during the carry.

Items - You get coins in match in which you can purchase random items from the chest. These coins are easy to obtain by repairing, So in addition to your starting item, it's very easy to pickup a few more. What this translates into is Survivors always have cameras, glue, invisible books, med kits, tool kits etc.

Chairs - 120/60/30 Seconds. This is the chair "lives" this means if you fall within those windows you'll get 3 lives. For example. If you're rescued from with 120s to 60s, you could potentially get three chair "hooks" That means the killer needs to hook the survivors 12 times in order to win.

Footsteps - You can pretty much hear where the killer is almost at all times and if you know the map know exactly where he is and where he isnt. Utilizing in game coms makes it very easy to win the match as a survivor by communicating where the killers location is.

In a nutshell. First off, Right now the game is not balanced at all in lobbies, which is its first and biggest turn off. This shouldn't be acceptable on release. New players getting matched with 100+ hour players is a huge turn off and leads to a feeling of "I can't win" or "im just being carried"

Secondly. The in game mechanics heavily favor the survivors. There is a plethora of different in game mechanics, and enfless items available so thwart the killer including multiple use doors, good survivors are not even afraid of the killer and will just toy with them all game. What this translates into is many dodged matches where the killer just leaves match or quits lobby when they see they've been placed as the killer. If you want to win, queue as survivor. I'd be very curious what the statistics are for survivor to killer wins. Based off my playing i'd say survivors win close to 80% of the time.

In 6 months after a slew of balance changes I think this game will be good and I think we'll have a unique DBD style game. However with the amount of bugs currently on hand and how easy the survivors win, this is a wait to buy.
