Early Access Review
Yes, i do recommend the game.
Soulstone survivor is excellent in what it does : when you launch a new game, you do a new build, choosing between TONS of skills, TONS of passives, TONS of effects. Then you have to dodge enemy's attacks because your skills are launched automatically as soon as the cooldown has passed.

The last update (as of end of March 2024) seems to receive a lot of bad criticism : this is the first time ever i see a game REVERTING an update just to please some people. Well, it is very obviously just some (not even many) hardcore Soulstone Survivor gamers that loved the game "as it was" that don't like big changes. New players cannot not like this update. Build diversity was immense, it has been greatly increased by this update.

That's what this game is about : putting effects together to both kill enemies faster (or, just barely killing them when it gets harder) & survive the bullet hell. And with the enormous amount of choices you have, you can play thousands of times and never do twice the same build. Especially with the last patch.

Compared to other games, Soulstone Survivor has hell a lot of choices.

If you like puzzles and philosophy (simply meaning "thinking about life, death, society, our ways to think, our ways to act", etc), then just like the first opus, you will like The Talos Principle 2.
If you hate one of these two elements, this game is not for you.
Since it's a so good game, if you're not sure you should give it a try. Maybe start with the first game though.

In details, i found the puzzles a bit easy and the story quite good, but, i would have preferred that choices matter more.
The story fits perfectly as a direct consequence of the first game.
Some details are amazing, and will make you laugh for some, or drop a tear for some others.
I liked a bit less the music in this one, but i'm a bit difficult with music so don't mind me. Also i LOVE the first opus' music, so this one is still good. Also very fitting in the environnements.
Some places are... breathtaking.

It's also a bit frustrating that so many amazing mechanics, making me smile as i finish the puzzle using them, are not combined in any puzzle then later on. I had much expectations from the puzzles behind the golden doors... they were just "a bit hard". I'd loved some combinations of teleport, controlling another body, changing gravity, vertical walls, activators and lasers, fans and all...
So i very much wish this can be brought later on by mods or an addon, or a DLC, or whatever.

The Talos Principle is my favorite game, i just finished this second game, i don't know yet if it will take the first place. Possibly.
