constantly crashes after battles forcing you to have to do the battles again in hopes it doesn't crash. very annoying.

Stick with Total War games instead.

Short Story: Might be good for newbies into strategy games, but experience players will find no challenge., I'll vote a yes, because there isn't a middle ground to choose from. It not a great game, but it's not an awful game either.

I would recommend this game, only for newbies to practice strategy, tactics, nation development , etc. I like that there is a sandbox mode which can cause different outcomes, instead of play being strictly limited to historical events like is some WWII games, like Strategic Command for example. I like that is real-time and not turn base. I like that there are many different countries to play as, so, replay-ability is there.

Now, that being said, why I say this is more for newbies is because the AI is really dumb when it comes to battle tactics. I used the AI to manage some aspects like finances to keep the appropriate level of taxation and social spending, so that I don't have to micro manage that. But I give no AI control over units. They have no coordination . This goes for attacking other countries as well. Or when they declare war on you. They send in their troops piece meal, no artillery support, no air support (if they have it). Example, In Korea, playing Japan, China declares war and attacks me in Korea. This was the first time playing the game and wasn't exactly sure what to expect yet. China attack me with 3-4 Elite troops (4 green dots), while I had still mostly low tech stuff, like 1 red or 2 yellow dots). First I thought, are they give the AI a tech advantage because the AI is dumb or what. Unfortunately, I was correct... the AI is dumb.

China has some initial gains because the 4 greens, easily beat the 1 reds.. , I through together a defensive wall of 7 units per hex, with artillery a hex behind in stacks of 5. I had cavalry in research also in stacks of 7. As the 4 elite troops ran into my line piece meal, I was able to destroy all of them with not too much effort. They tried to retreat , which is where the cavalry came in to run them down. And that's basically how it went for every battle. piece meal attacks.

China tried to invade Japan as well with a steady line of merchantmen transport ships, they ran right into my line of ship that I had extending for Port Arthur to the China coast. No organized effort to remove my defensive line with war ships, just ran troop transport at it, which don't do any damage to my ships.

In my second game, I played Austria-Hungry, After capture New Zealand for declaring war on me, I turned it into a base to launch an invasion of Australia. I landed with 8 elite troops, captured a coastal town (no port) and split my troops into pairs to protect the town as I was building a sea pier. I also had to battleship-like ships there to provide artillery support. This was more of a test invasion. I was expecting to be swarmed and kicked back into the ocean, but that didn't happen. Instead, an steady stream of motorcycle scout uses suicided themselves into my elite troops. No coordination, just one at a time like some leaky faucet.

I have almost 200 hours in the game and haven't see anything different yet. It's a shame, the game had a ton of potential, a large research tree, tons of units, country specific units, a sandbox world map, etc. But with a stupid AI, it really brings the game down. It is multiplayer, but none of my steam friends play this type of game. There's no chance in this AI getting better because the devs aren't working on it anymore.

Was thinking about 2030 game, but the reviews quickly turned me away. Besides, I'm more of WW 1 and prior person, up to WW II.

Fun game, easy to play, graphics are simply, but that's fine because the game play is pretty interesting. Very creative game.

I'm giving Elden Ring a bad review based on the implementation of multiplayer. The game is very beautiful , so artistically it is awesome. If you got the game intended for single player... then again.. probably not bad.

But I purchased the game for its co-op multiplayer ability that I heard was a feature. A game where you could adventure like in Titan Quest or Dungeon Seige or .... (not exactly the same "type" of game, but I hope you get the point".) In those games, which are truly multiplayer co-op, you can adventure as a party. That's the part of the fun. Have a party of different attributes that complement each other member of the party to go questing and exploring.

Well, don't know what they were thinking when they designed the multiplayer function of Elden Ring, but it is ... to say it plainly... just AWFUL... and here is why.

1) There is no lobby for you to group up and then go do your co-op questing. You each have to get so far in your game (not necessary bad , so that you can learn the game) at which at some point you can then do multiplayer... but its not that simple as you well see.

2) In order to do multiplayer, you have find a merchant and spend what I would call money that you got from killing stuff (its not call money.. but just simplifying it here). It cost 1000 of these "tokens" and the merchant only has a few of them 3 or 4... some merchants don't have any. So right of the bat... this is bad. merchant doesn't have item... you can't co-op with friends.... if you don't have the "money"... you can't co-op with friends.

3) Once you have the item, then you need to communicate to your party, perhaps over steam chat, discord, whatever tool you use and tell them to "make a sign" with this finger you found earlier in the game. It makes some gold runes on the ground.. THEN you with the item you just purchase for 1000, activate that item and if you are all in the right spot.. you can see the runes on the ground and invite your crew. So make sure you are in the right spot else you just wasted item that costed 1000

4) Great... your are all finally in your group.. YIPPEE... oopps one of your buddies for some reason gets disconnected... dang.. ok..no problem you think.. you'll just re-invite him... but wait it's not that simple,as I said before.. there is no lobby.. you have to consume another one of those special 1000 token items.. They are used up each time.. so to get your buddy back in.. cough up another 1000 .. and if you at the point where you are out of money or out of those special items.... so sad your buddy can't join.

5) But lets say everything goes smoothly.. you are all at the correct location in the game, your network connection is fantastic, and everyone is ready to get going. YIPPEE. So there you go adventuring together finally. You see some enemies and your are all excited to start fighting. (now, if you are familiar with Dark Soul type games... it can be easy for some people to die.. rather quickly. The fight begins, you are dodging like a mad man... you're amazing.. then you get speared in the head... dead.. bang and you are knock out of the game. If you were "invited", you return to your own world. If you want to rejoin your party... guess what... the host has to cough up another 1000 tokens and have items to use... otherwise.. too bad soo sad, you ain't rejoining the party.

6) But lets say you are a party of veterans.. this is easy peasy...at first. But as you proceed on... sooner or later you start taking damage... but hey.. there are these "potions" you can take to heal you .. super... Ok. I'm out .. umm... no place to buy these. OH Wait... in single player I remember.. I just go do these little glowing things on the ground where I can rest, and I get my health and potions back... BUT NOOOOO.. not in multiplayer... you can't activated them while others are "in" your game. So sooner or later.. you or someone in your group is going to run out of health and we bounce from the game where you need to come up with another 1000 tokens to get them back it.... PURE STUPIDTIY.

7) But it doesn't stop there... other players, that you don't invite.. can just "invade" your world. I'll admit the concept is kind of cool all except that the way multiplayer is implemented totally SUCKS... this just adds to the suckiness. If the invading player kills one of your party... then as explained multiple times already... cough up another 1000 tokens to get the person back and thats ONLY if the merchant has the items to sell... which sometimes is not the case. So although the idea of the "invading" player is interesting, the implementation of multiplayer makes this just another nail in the coffin , thorn in the side, blah blah blah.. you get the point.

So to sum up... if you got the game, purely for single playing..... and you like Dark Souls games... then you'll like this game. IF you got this game thinking it would be a fun co-op game to play with buddies over the weekend.. then save your collective $240 (4 people to a party) and pass on the game... there are other other adventuring co-op games better suited.

Best game out of the Fall Out series. Seems the most error free compared to Fall Out 3 and Fall Out 4. DLC are decent. The feel the game just feels cleaner

Free game but they try to get you on the nuke colas. You can send your guys on missions and log off, then come back on after X number of hours, and your guys are ready to explore. But on the way back, its' broken.. if the travel time is 5 hours back, you have the be IN the game for 5 hours for your guys to return.. unless you want to spend money on nuke colas.. and that can get expensive after awhile. This was not the case for the IPAD version of this game.. but this PC version seems broken.

Positive recommendation , but I would give it a 60 out of 100

Simply super fun in VR ! One of the better games truly adapted to use the VIVE controllers.

My only complaint (and would consider it the only big flaw in the game), is the lack of planetary maps. Something like Empryion would be nice. I would think with advance space craft and scanning technology... have the customary M key for a MAP would be NICE. Too easy to get turned around.

That being said STILL a great VR experience, especially just doing fly-by's over the terrain.

Played for over 300 hours so far. I wasn't into crafting games until this one. All games are personally preferences. What some like, others dont. However this game was right up my ally. Trying to survive in a zombie invested world without dying....once. Well at least that was my goal and I was doing very well until someone ran me over with a mini-bike. Pissed and funny at the same time.

There's lots of crafting and many ways to die...not just by zombie. It is can be stressful in the first week until you are able to get enough resources and find a place to hide. Once you meet up with people (you can trust), it just adds another fun element to the game.

Lets put it this way, I like this game so much, I rent a gaming server so friends can join me without lag. I've NEVER rested a game server before this. Think that says alot.

Are there still lots of things that need improvement, hell yeah...... but is the game fun to play in it's current stay... well...if you don't like killing zombies..... then you're looking at the wrong game.
