Some, justifiably, say there are bugs remaining in Skyrim. I agree. (Going for the cheap joke, I would say, "I wish we could kill the bugs, 'In game.'" It's just that Bethesda never let us equip any bug spray. OK, sorry for the cheap laugh.) However, I cannot find a game with as rich story lines, open world playability, etc., as this one. (Fallout is my 2nd favorite game.) I get really mad at the game, too, with the bugs. Even if I haven't found too many, I still get angry over being stymied. And yet...I still wouldn't give it up. It is just flat out fun. I've only been playing Skyrim about 1 year--a newb, considering how many long-time players are out there. I do recommend this game with a caveat against it to those who are sensitive to blood and violence--children, for one. Also, while I do think the Legendary Edition is better, I started out playing this edition, and still love it. I also love that the character creation permits a female character--some games do not. The best reason I can think of to play this game, aside from stunning landscapes, moonscapes, and water, also aside from having a ton of fun killing all manner of bad guys, getting to explore different sides of every character, learn skills, level up...all of that...yes, aside from all of that, is that it is just FUN.

7 years later--UPDATE 2025--I have appreciated Bethesda's fixing some of those nasty bugs that have stymied me from time to time. But, just to let you know, I still find my original assessment fairly accurate. Also, I have not worn out my love for the game. Recently, I started another (from the very beginning) playthrough. Even though I now have strategies for what to do (when), know which lines of dialogues to choose, and which characters I can choose as good companions, my zest for the game has not subsided. It is still my number one favorite fun game. Dovahkiin.
