With this new senseless update, this is now the most unbalanced survival game on Steam.

Scum is a fantastic template for what I can imagine one of the best survival games there is. But gameplay balancing choices in this game are among the worst I have ever seen personally.
You can get past it. But it will CONSTANTLY ANNOY YOU.
If you are lucky you will not notice the worst of it. But you WILL NOT BE LUCKY ENOUGH.
This game is EXTREMELY unfriendly towards new players. Beyond reason.

Scum is one of those games with fantastic potential, and many intriguing aspects that makes you keep playing.
Even though you keep noticing the game heading in a downward spiral. The development team is just plain weird.
But in spite of them being a slight bit stupid and ruining their own product. You can enjoy this game a lot.

Although I will not push a recommendation just because I keep playing a title I already know.

A truly amazing game in visuals and scope. Master crafted character animations, and a tonne of content. All this, with a slightly worse than mediocre execution. Content is separate, most does not even allow co-op. IN A MMO BY THE WAY. Want to hunt bosses with your friends? Nope, can't do most of them. They can stand and watch though. Missions? Almost everything is individual. You can mass murder more than hundreds of different enemies with simple one-attack zombie-AI together at least? Talk about the lost potential trade route system or farms. Laid out as a half "AFK arena" sliced game that makes me sad to play it.

It is so different to what I want it to be. And honestly, I enjoyed it the most just travelling around the world, exploring. Not doing the quests. Not getting mad at the catered content. Just loving what this game studio made.

Black Desert is a world intentionally stripped of individuality in order to sell you that very experience through microtransactions. Why do you think every class has a preset gender and look? Want to look unique at all? Spend some money in the shop.
Found a class that suits you perfectly? Oh you want to create a cool male character? Too bad! Sales sheets show girl characters sells way more cosmetic items.

This game could have been something unique. Something amazing.
But you have to find a new soul for it yourself. It no longer has one of its own.

Quite possibly the worst implementation of crossplay in a shooter I have ever seen or heard of.

You will experience all your worst nightmares from your old console gaming days.
Terrible community. Insultive, abusive and unsporting players even in matches of only 8 players.

All console players are gifted an aim assist that is every exploit abusers wet dream. Borderlining the best of aimbots I have seen in competitive E-Sport scenes.

Depressingly bad daily and weekly challenges that breaks matches in half and only hampers gameplay.
Players of this game are very much not allowed to play as they wish.

The developers does not care.
No, really. There is not a peep.
This game is being left to rot. And it shows.

Artificially rigged matches. Not much to do once you discover that the game throws in more actual humans against you if you do well. And with only two gamemodes this is an instant turn-off once you realize the game has fundamental balancing flaws. Great idea, ghastly executed.

Oh how the mighty have fallen... I have never seen a game so happy to have fallen from a 9/10 game to a 2/10. Inbalance, poor game design changes, ping difference and getting stuck in yet another broken shotgun meta. How can it be so bloody hard... To not make shotguns the be-all end-all in shooter games? It is just beyond me.
The game is not even comparable to the Rainbow Six Siege I remember when it came out. I would think you were joking if you put me in front of this slow, hollow and shallow camp-shooter and told me it was Rainbow Six. IF I hadn't just started it myself and CLEARLY read the name of the game. This game is just a shell of what it once was. Why would I play this game now, when it has only lost all its personality, and is not better at anything provided by another game. What an abyssmal disappointment...

I must say that this is an absolute gem of a 2D game in my opinion. Its storytelling is at a whole other level, dark and shrouded. With the perfect voiceover. It has a very unique combat mechanic, which is greatly inspiring to create new team compositions, look for gaps you can exploit in your opponents by forcing their characters to move forwards or backwards. A very tricky mechanic! As most of your own characters lack attacks in certain positions, so it takes a lot of planning, probably ending up with you getting a few favourites that you name and upgrade, and die a bit inside if you ever loose them in the dungeon...

And it also has to be mentioned that this game has amazing mod support. Hundreds of extra characters, hundreds of artifacts, and the best part is how varied they all are. Animations, models, fighting styles.. There is a great long list of options, and for such a kind price I argue it is a game truly worth checking out.

I quite like the projected atmosphere of this game. It does enough to fuel my imagination. And for a survival game this is crucial in its success. Making me want to expand, makes me want to build. I wish I could build bridges outside the base area though! It is quite a slippery game, and I die from falling way more than whatever the shroud can come up with!
I love when my main complaints about a game is just that. I want more. More options and more variety.

If you cannot provide a hacker-free experience in ranked play, then how can I ever take your game seriously? There is no kick function if a teammate cheats. There is no progression protection if an enemy cheats. It is only free pickings for scummy players, and I do not feel as if you really care.

I... Really struggle for words when a multiplayer game struggles to play in multi player instances.. I hope that it is a fluke, and it will be fixed. But it is inexcusable to give this game a positive review right now, based on the blockages preventing players from enjoying the base experience. Sorry, it is just an absolute no.

A tragic shell of what once was an amazing card game.

Why is this game still so unpolished after this many years? The lack of any social aspect whatsoever to a card game is abhorrent. It cripples the game down to a half-solo card craft that STILL SOMEHOW runs at a crawl while you are trying to run anything else on the side.
Some light changes to this game would turn it from an oxidized rusty bronze to shining gold. But it has been years. And no matter how much potential and value I see in this game. The ones who also has to see it is the developers.

And they do not...
It makes me very sad.
